@northernnarwhal Part of why those particular sounds are in it because of how we view Stone Age cultures. Schleicher's example illustrates like a bokmaal, a literary take, versus the modern PIE reconstructionist take which focuses more on the phonological. Sort of a turn in comparative linguistics on the whole.
