@scoot Have you been practicing written Japanese at all?
-
@mushi I recently finished ERASED, I enjoyed it but its sense of storytelling really fell apart later in. Being a thriller meant it had to rely on a specific tonal balance throughout its duration that it just couldn't maintain as consistently in its later episodes to stay convincingly interesting for me to watch.
-
@scoot This one's a bit rough compared to the others but the design of the character is still really cute.
-
@scoot If I'm not watching too much during this spring season of anime I'll give series 1 of Nisekoi a whirl, and let you know what I think afterwards.
-
@scoot I have it on my backlog, so i imagine one of these days I'll eventually get around to it. I have seen FLCL though, which is a classic and definitely one of my favourites.
-
@scoot How's Nisekoi? I've never seen it though I have an offline friend who loves it (also I'm pretty sure they recently added one of the main characters from it to Mario Maker)
-
@scoot Very cute art as always. Which anime have you been watching?
-
@tiffany I still generally prefer their early work personally. I'll check out their new record when it comes out though.
-
@scribus Hell yeah! Excuses to gorge myself on chocolate!
-
@scribus I like the way you think
-
@scribus I'd say it's kind of a kung-fu thriller, I guess? Kung-Fu Dunk is more of a really campy comedic b-movie kung-fu film, it's not a "good" film by any traditional or standard metrics but gosh is it a really fun time.
-
@scribus The only Kung Fu movie you need https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kung_Fu_Dunk

Ugh, my aching blood
-
@metaltao nite
-
@rarity hi naked I'm dad
-
@metaltao I remember when my brother went to China he brought back this traditional leaf tea that he bought there and it was just incredible, easily the best tea I've ever had
-
@rarity Yeah, but I've gotten really good at being able to break open the shells in my mouth from eating lots of them
-
@rarity I've developed a love of sunflower seeds lately. I generally keep a bag by my desk and snack on them while I'm working.
-
@rarity Ha, I haven't eaten much today aside from some sunflower seeds and potatoes
-
@metaltao Elitism develops in many cultures, especially when there's a clash of rich history and popular appeal.
-
@rarity I like cooking, so I've done a modest amount of research in regards to alcohol pairings with specific kinds of dishes, in order to compliment one with the other. I also enjoy fruity and sweet alcohols, but more so on their own than with prepared meals.
-
@metaltao The thing though is that the consumption is part of that tradition and pride that you're talking about. Wine is a cultural celebration, it's specific people who inhabit said culture of wine who bring the pompous elitism to it.
-
@metaltao Wine culture is full of ivory tower high horse types, but wine itself can be pretty enjoyable as an alcoholic beverage
-
@rarity I dunno if I have a specific alcohol of preference, for me it generally depends on my mood as well as if I'm just gonna be drinking it on its own or pairing it with a dish
-
@rarity You probably either haven't developed a taste for wine or are having lousy wine, or both. Or it's just not your thing, which could also very likely be the case.
-
And then the other half of my family is French so... more wine.
-
@rarity I really like wine but half of my family is Italian so I've been exposed to it since I was really young

@redenchilada Oh yeah for sure, I've had a handful of pleasant conversations with federated users in the past. My reply earlier was more of a joking generalization than any kind of axiom.
-
@redenchilada In my case the sentence usually just ends at "Quitter scared me"
