Although JK Simmons as the mayor is very recognizably JK Simmons as the mayor, so replacing that role would be incredibly difficult.

@scribus I dunno if I'd enjoy it in long form but a buddy cop series with Nick and Judy that expanded on the thematic conclusions of the original film sounds like a pretty fun time

@mrmattimation I was thinking more along the lines of adapting the series to a 2D animated program for something like Disney XD

@scribus The visual style would likely have to be changed to something more economical to fit a tv schedule, but Zootopia itself is open ended enough that it'd be possible for spinoffs to occur.

@scribus Yeah, I can understand the annoyance there. Lots of songs don't translate well to a car listening environment.

@mrmattimation So traditionally non-musical samples in otherwise musical recordings? Yeah I'm fine with that. I don't think it'll be used effectively or meaningfully in every instance, but in lots of cases fully crafting a song is more than just "play these notes on these instruments" so I think there's a place for the kinds of sounds you're referring to in both popular and niche music.

@mrmattimation The pedantic audio engineer in me wants to say "well, almost all music has some kind of sound effect" but I take it that's not what you mean. Would you be able to clarify for me what it is you're referring to when you say "sound effect"?

@tiffany Cocoa Butter Kisses is one of my favourite songs by him if you're looking for a particular entry point into his work

@tiffany I know @razzleberry is a big fan of him. I've enjoyed most of his projects to varying degrees, his Acid Rap mixtape in particular was pretty great. He also had a pretty good feature on the opener of the most recent Kanye album.

@tiffany Have you listened to The Worst Guys? It's much more built around a specific atmosphere and motif than something really hard hitting like Crawl.

@tiffany I think he's alright, I don't consider him to be a particularly good rapper but he's far from offensively bad either. A friend of mine actually took me to see him live around the time Because the Internet came out, it was a pretty good show.

@tiffany Is it though? It basically embodies the same space as the same films it's ostensibly parodying, it just turns and WINKS at the audience every chance it can get too.
