From what I have played of 4, I prefer it to 3 but not to New Vegas. Though that might just be positive early first impressions.

@awl I enjoyed 2 as well, but it was incredibly uneven in comparison to the first game (which was just a fully realized world driven by smart, balanced gameplay).

I'm alone here in that preference, though New Vegas is also the favourite 3D Fallout game of an offline friend of mine

New Vegas might be my favourite in the series too, either that or the very first Fallout. Both are excellent articulations of the post apocalypse genre in games though.

@mrmattimation I actually think FONV was the best of the 3D Fallout games, though I haven't played an awful lot of FO4.

@scribus Oh yeah, there are plenty of other worse ways to go, but execution is execution.
