Clip Studio's animation suite looks alright, but why would you make an animation program without onion skinning? It's such an obvious program for animation studios, but it doesn't help streamline anything. So weird.

Does OpenToonz or whatever have the same smoothing problems as Flash? What are the pros and cons of it? I can't stand animating in Flash anymore at all.

@mrmattimation ...I dunno if this is just me or not but it feels like when I export to GIF there's slight speedup.

@mrmattimation You animate at 24fps, right? The GIF format only has centisecond-level precision for frame intervals, so it can only support constant framerates that 100 divides evenly into. Chances are decent that Flash doesn't use varying frame intervals in its GIF export, meaning the interval would be rounded down to 4 centiseconds per frame (25fps).
So in short, it's (probably) not just you. -
@redenchilada I thought it might've been something like that. Alex and I animated at 25fps for The Brony Community 5 and gif export was significantly better.

@scribus Generally if I'm concerned I'll get distracted I won't listen to anything while I work, but I want some music to background my work I'll generally toss on some ambient stuff or possibly some post rock. I tend to avoid really lyrical stuff while working because I usually gravitate to lyrics quickly.
