@crusader8 I dunno, it's been over 10 years for me. I remember that carbon is so good for basing life off of it because of that 4 bonds thing, and silicon shares that property so that's why science fiction sometimes talks about silicon-based life, and furthermore there are various radioactive elements in the same column so in theory there could be radioactive-element-based-life somewhere or somewhen.
