Let's say you're animating at about 12 frames per second, which is the standard in this business. Most animators actually end up only drawing between 7 to 10 frames because of holds and such, so let's say you end up drawing an average of 9 frames for every second of animation. That would be about 540 unique drawings for every minutes. Now, multiply that by 30 minutes? Rounding that up to account for extremes and unusually fast movements, and you've got 875,000 unique drawings. And that's only accounting for animations where only one character or object is moving at all times. Bring that number up and you're looking at millions of unique drawings.
