  2. @whiterose Got a bit of a headache, am surprised the Linux Foundation released a pro-Linux video on a Mac (see http://rainbowdash.net/notice/2181069) and... not much else. Wish my headache would go away and I'd receive my new phone battery by now, though...

  3. @thelastgherkin A lot. Depending on your device, you will probably not get ALL of these features, but you will at least get most: http://www.addictivetips.com/mobile/whats-new-in-android-4-0-ice-cream-sandwich-feature-review/

  4. @techdisk A bit surprised at everyone seemingly yelling at The Linux Foundation, until I saw their latest video. Attached is a screenshot, I'm sure you can find out why people are a bit angry about having a video which is supposed to promote Linux look the way it does. http://ur1.ca/c4n44

  5. @pony In general, you can do practically everything the average user wants to be able to do through GUIs. That's the whole point of GUIs. The real power-user stuff, like defining the login manager used and manage daemons, is something which you do on the command line. The command line is also, obviously, nice for useful scripts. For my Android, I have written a VERY simple script which can detect all the .apk files in a directory and install them in a matter of seconds. "find --name "*.apk" --exec pm install {} \;" is the script in question, if I could recall correctly. All it does is fine all .apk files, and lets the package manager install is when it finds one. These simple things can save so much time at times, and that's why I like the CLI. Also: https://identi.ca/climagic

  25. @ceruleanspark Ah, I see. I guess I should see if it would be possible to tweak the FSF Europe Fellowship Smartcard (this thing: https://fellowship.fsfe.org/card.en.html) in a way so it can be used for that. The fact that you can store your PGP keys on it makes me feel like I could in some way use it to unlock something, at least. I'm not even sure if I'll get the thing, but it just seems cool and it would be cool if I could do something semi-useful with it.
