Good morning everypony.

@animagic4u That thing is getting worse and worse since... 2001? that's the culmination, from this year. I sincerely hope some dictator gets the reins of this country before it's too late. Still, shouting to them, and waving around a sword, usually makes the villeros stop their "music"

@nerthos >XD Well hopefully it stops.

@animagic4u Give it some soap and it will end.

@scribus pashh, I was drunk from like, 10 to 4 today and I still remember stuff.

@carcino Yeah, I remember drunken things, too, but I also remember hungover mornings when I had to call my friends and ask what the hell we did the night before.
-
@scribus I'm still hangover-proof.

My friend Dennis made another podcast? and I only learned about it just now via !eqdaily... http://www.equestriadaily.com/2011/11/bunnycast-interviews-dennis-hu.html

@lightingracer Wait a minute. (Doesn't shut down internet just yet). You're making a fan fic about developmental disorders. I study those, and I have A.D.H.D myself. I could probably be of help, but I have to do my term paper first.

!movies - "A Very Harold & Kumar 3D Christmas." They're the new Cheech & Chong. You know what you're in for, c'mon. Really. I had a blast, I'll give it an A-. I also love stoner comedies and was, at the time, chemically altered. Your mileage may vary.
-
@purpletinker All of my win. Take it!

@tenmihara Isn't that brilliant?
-
@purpletinker So simple, yet so brilliant. Fantastic stuff

!movies - "Jumper" - Started halfway through, so I can't really review it. But I just want to say the protagonists are Slasher Movie Stupid. Like, whoa. Like, drinking a skull & crossbones bottle thinking it's "pirate juice" stupid. I mean, how do they dress themselves level stupid. A team of the first-to-dies in slasher flicks could take these guys out (and Jumpers are superhumans). They make Forrest Gump look like Marilyn Vos Savant. So. Flipping. Stupid.
-
!movies - "The Thing" (2011) - Prequel, not a remake, of John Carpenter's "The Thing" (1982). However, don't think that just because you've seen JCTT you know how the new one will end. The plot is the same - there's an alien in Antarctica. The story, however, is significantly different, and it does a fair bit to expand the story of the two films together. JCTT focused more on paranoia and what lurks in the dark, whereas 2011's did have some good paranoia moments, but broke out into Action scenes much more frequently. The Thing itself was wonderfully well done when it appeared, and it had some really neat tricks up its metamorphic sleeves. One thing I appreciated was that the "split the party" moments had a darn good reason to happen, as opposed to stupid teen slasher flicks. Overall, though, it wasn't a necessary film and I still like JCTT better, but this was still good for what it was. B+

@scribus And now, #spoiler time! :p If you don't have !RDNrefresh blocking #spoilers and you care about "The Thing" (2011) stop reading now! Alrighty. There was a scene where they were trying to determine who was a Thing by checking for fillings - it can't mimic non-organic materials. I thought, "Damn, I'd be screwed, I've never had a filling!" Then I thought, "Wait, I have earrings!" And later on, a character's earring became a plot point. Moral of the story - NEVER FIGHT SHAPESHIFTING ALIENS IN ANTARCTICA EVER! That earring only protects you from humans clever enough to think that deeply; Things will still eat you dead. :p

!movies - "50/50" - I guess the first thing to get out of the way is that this is not just a movie about guys trying to score sympathy sex because of cancer. It is part of it, but actually a small one. The rest is a general story of cancer, the people who have it, and the people who love them. Everybody did such a really good job (especially Joseph Gordon-Levitt), but at the end of it Seth Rogen was really just playing a toned-down version of everyone he always plays, and Anna Kendrick felt like she was pulling out the same character she'd played in "Up in the Air." That said, I did enjoy it, and it wasn't lacking anything - it just didn't really do anything above-and-beyond. I just wanted lo like it even more. B- or so.

!movies I just realized I have no interest in "Happy Feet 2." A movie about penguins (favorite animal, here) and I don't want to see it. They really messed up the first one. =/

!college !calgary Oh, and I just remembered the best part: that latest assessment that I got 100% on that brought me up to an A+? Took me less than 5 minutes.

!calgary !college Still waiting on the results of my math midterm, but I just got the marks for my latest design assessment. It was enough to bring my grade up, meaning I am now officially maintaining an A+ average in all of my subjects. I never even saw an A+ when I was in high school. !movies - So I'm one of *those* guys who typically says that "the original was better." I've even talked about opening an independent theater and showing the original versions of movies whenever a remake is released. And yet, I can't make myself get mad about the American version of "The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo." It's got Daniel Craig! And it's directed by David Fincher!! #whatishappeningtomyworld

Well, gonna see "Paranormal Activity 3" tonight. Figure I've already seen the other two, and this Halloween is severely lacking in horror films on the big screen.
-
@tenmihara Shall do! About 10 minutes before (the previews before) it starts.
-
@scribuscampbell lol
-
@tenmihara "Paranormal Activity 3" - I think I liked this one best of the series so far. A great job with atmosphere and mood, and a number of creative scares (especially considering the fact that the entity in question can only do, like, three basic tricks). As for the scares, they're mostly of the AUGH!-YOU-JUMP-NOW variety, but they do make you jump - their timing is impeccable. As for the story, it made me kind of wish I'd watched the first two again so I'd be back up to speed; but, I saw it on a whim, so no chance there. I would say it integrated into the overall story of the franchise better than PA 2 did. I'd say they've got one more possible film in the franchise (which would take place after PA 1, since 2 & 3 were prequels) - but I can't for the life of me think of how they would continue the "characters filming themselves" theme. Overall, I'll call it a B-minus. !movies

!calgary !college This week in Communications class we're doing impromptu presentations. It's not very impromptu, though. The way we're doing it is that we send our instructor a list of three topics we're willing to talk about, and then a few minutes before our presentation, she chooses one of those three topics and we have to come up with a presentation for it. Though since we already know ahead of time what the possible topics are, it's not that hard to be prepared for them anyways. Like I said, not very impromptu. || So, come friday morning, I'll be doing a presentation on either: Reliability of Wikipedia Articles, Analysis of Series-Parallel Circuits, or My Little Pony. Though our instructor says she has a knack for picking the topic we're least interested in talking about, so I guess it's going to be Wikipedia.
