for the first time ever my store ran out of Diet Mountain Dew and apparently it’s because JD Vance claimed the left wanted to get rid of it and schizophrenic Facebook boomers just believed him?

Wow I didn't necessarily think that The Acolyte was worse than the Holiday Special, but I also haven't seen the Holiday Special and didn't see Acolyte past episode 2 https://youtu.be/CO4xVT-OksI
about 9 months ago from web-
@scribus I've seen both. The Holiday Special is objectively atrocious. It's a boring train wreck in a bizarre way only that time period could produce with the ferocity of a coked-up Carrie Fischer. Acolyte has problems and tends to sets more things up than to resolve and the resolution feels lacking. Nothing insultingly bad but just... wishing for more.

Every time it rains I put some buckets outside to collect rain water that I put into a rain water barrel. Just from today's rain I collected almost 100l (26 US liquid gallons).

If Joe Biden winds up resenting Obama even half as much as I do this will all have been worth it. http://rainbowdash.net/url/876624

@zeldatra I'm about to write the old Catholic in my capacity as a member of the clergy, counsel him to consider that maybe he's being a little Prideful in this matter...

Ah yes New York... It needs 1.6 million USD paid to McKinsey to determine that trash bins are effective. I could have done for half.
about 9 months ago from web-
@adiwan New York is the worst-run city on the east coast and it isn’t even close.
-
@zeldatra Similar to Berlin that is so broke that any official paperwork and permit takes an eternity and there is a high likelihood that offices are closed without any good reason, and most places are a cherryhole. I was only a few times there and it wasn't a pleasant experience.

Be the TV news. Report on "priceless" baseball card theft. Roll footage of baseball cards, each and every one sporting a prominent PRICE TAG. Lack any sense of responsibility, irony, etc. Be the TV news.
about 10 months ago from web-
@scribus The lucky ones are who own priceless baseball cards so they can be cashed in for horrendous prices by selling them to the most gullible people on earth, next to NFT-bros and crypto-bros. Of course the reports are basically promoting more card theft because the cards have become more profitable and hyped.

I have 3 access points (same model) and they all died within a short time span, even the one that wasn't plugged in for over half a year. It's super strange.

@adiwan one of three is working again. Somehow one fixed itself. The other two are good enough as project boxes for my micro controllers.

Hahaha... If I had a decent and recent GPU I wouldn't sell. My PC is about 9 years old. At this point my PC would be in 3rd or 4th grade in Elementary School.

HELP. I bought more tomato seeds for next year. I bought "Ananas Noire", "Purple Sunrise", "Osu Blue" and some other. They look visually appealing. "Purple Sunrise" is dark pruple on top and yellow on the bottom. Wanna taste the sunrise.

just started watching my little pony this week. looking through all of the old forums is like looking through a museum of ancient artifacts (/j)
all of the abandoned accounts, all of the creations made with such love, never to be updated on. it makes me wonder where they all are now.
but you guys are still here sorta! what have you guys been doing? (keep it sfw please, im a minor)about 10 months ago from web-
@grim People like new things. People get bored. People go on. People's lives change unexpectedly. The MLP G4 hype is over for a long time and the stories of Maretime Bay (G5?) don't grab as much attention. The media landscape has also changed as the general audience's taste. I've been in many forums that just fizzle out and essentially die due to inactivity. Sometimes there is a hard core of people that keep things going.
I read the MLP comics and watch the new stuff. I have stopped engaging by seeking out discussions and creating fan art. I ain't time for that anymore.
I'm here just to hang out and rant about my life.

@scribus WTF

@adiwan I am broke and donating plasma for occasional money, but the last time I ended up bruised so I can't donate. Truck needs an oil change, we just passed Father's Day, my birthday is in about a week, and they were offering bonuses this month so it all sounded great. But it isn't.

@scribus I think I cannot repeat myself enough: WTF.

@scribus I'm often stumped by the simple cross-section of a circle. Every time I saw off a thick branch or root I think that isn't that bad until I reach the middle, where it's suddenly harder to move material.

No matter how much earth I buy it gets used up faster than imagined. The earth of my raised beds settled and I wanted to top off.
about 10 months ago from web-
@adiwan 3D volume is such a hassle to math out mentally
-
@scribus It's worse because when spreading out the earth it gets uncompressed and gains volume, giving the false impression it might be enough. The sacks I bought last time contained very coarse compost and over time everything sank down. This time This time I bought finer grained earth, special for tomatoes,

It's fascinating how strong the odor is that sticks to the fingers when handling a tomato plant.
about 10 months ago from web-
@adiwan It is indeed a prodigious pungence, but kind of enjoyable. I think about cooking with tomato leaves sometimes but I don't know *what* I'd do with them lol

Trump is gonna spend the whole debate calling Joe Biden mean nicknames like Sleepy Joe and everyone’s gonna think it’s really shocking and whatever and then Biden’s gonna call Trump a slur 40 minutes in and people aren’t gonna know what to do
about 10 months ago from web-
@zeldatra In this day and age *sleepy* is a positive word. I would trust a person less if they were called *sleep-deprived* instead.

Buddy of mine has a 30lb/13.6kilo alligator defrosting in the fridge rn, with plans to smoke it all day today. It's curled up tail-to-nose and takes half the fridge. He has yet to figure out how he's fitting it in the smoker.
about 10 months ago from web-
@scribus Sounds like a job in multiple turns. I don't think doing such a thing in one go with standard equipment is possible. One has to need to use a smoking chamber of a butcher.

I guess people like to complain. I watched all the "The Acolyte" episodes and I thought it was not bad. The show is about slowly revealing the truth of a story from different perspectives with misdirections that are confusing without more information. Some people are stuck in a narrow mindset of what they expect from Star Wars that cannot be achieved. I get it that mystery plots can be very frustrating but I think it's not warranted yet to completely lose one's papaya. So far "Book of Boba Fett" has done more wrong in three episodes than this.

Ha. Hahaha. Ha. Of course, of course.... I finally have a solid "maybe" on some part-time work, and they want me to install an app. It installs, but errors out during account creation. My old-ass device, or their bad backend? The world may never know.
about 10 months ago from web-
@scribus I have had a “background check” in progress for two and a half years at DoorDash because of an error on their backend that nobody has ever been able to help me with.
-
@zeldatra Yeah it's definitely backend, even the supervisor onboarding me was perplexed and had no one to get answers from. It was fun! haha

Thinking of the viability of a D&D adventure about a ghost crab with the title: The crustacean apparition.
about 11 months ago from web-
@scribus Hmmm... An underwater adventure about merfolk having a great fest with food and games, as well as a battle tournament. However the tournament is disrupted by a ghost crab and kills off or scares off combatants of the tournament to death.

@adiwan Underwater wrestling has some fascinating potential for incredible new moves
