  1. @nahff I need the original sources for those images you're posting. A link to a deviantart or Derpiboo.ru page will do. When I can save art at its original resolution I'm a happy camper. http://rainbowdash.net/file/pony-20120717T235353-2sa47c9.png

  5. I got this just now. RDN and Fimfiction are too adult apparently. I haven't been anywhere else but .info and legit game sites. Maybe Ross's room is the culprit. 2adult4me http://rainbowdash.net/attachment/771343

  9. @zeldatra Dumbledor actual is an english word. If I were to ponify him I'd choose something like Whisperwhinny

  10. @zeldatra So I guess Plaithoof will be a decent compromise...

Monday, 28-Jul-14 21:23:14 UTC from web in context
  11. @zeldatra I considered that as well. Then it wouldn't explain certain etymologies like that of "platonic."

  12. @loveydoe I am. At the moment, Twilight is giving a lesson in philosophy and history.

  13. @zeldatra I was thinking Plaithoof because plait is a type of braid and seems better than plate. The problem with using real names is that I'm creating an original history, similar to the real world, minus gender inequality. When describing the ponified version of Platto's philosophy, therefore, I'll be changing that too so not to reflect quite as much gender inequality, so it would be misleading to use the actual name of the original philosopher.

  14. @zeldatra I'm thinking you may be right in this case since it messes with the word origin of platonic

  19. @zeldatra I suspect she could be just as religious as any other pony, or moreso, but that Pinkie's sense simply didn't fit into her rigid set of beliefs, like gifts of the Spirit for J-Witnesses or like divination for most of Christianity.

  20. @zeldatra Many faiths share commonalities. I may use terms familiar to my own religion, but, as a fictional world, they need not mean the same exact thing.

  21. @cinnamonswirl In my doctrine, the fall of Lucifer meant the fall of a third part of the angels with him. Luna didn't seem to have that much of a following, or maybe we just haven't heard about it. Personally, I see Celestia as a translated being, prophetess, and seer. Though there's never been any definite record of a translated being becoming corrupted (like Luna) it may still be possible, yet a return to grace for such a being would be nigh impossible. Cain is rumored to have received immortality after his unforgivable transgression, for instance, but that's not reliable doctrine, afaik.

How sad is it that I'm /just now/ getting the Boy Who Cried Wolf reference from this clip?

  24. @cinnamonswirl My fanon may or may not conflict, depending on who you claim as the god of Equestria, and whether a government ruled by a prophetess counts as a theocracy. Also, if alicorns either are or speak for the pony god, what does it mean for the faithful when Luna falls/apostatizes?

Monday, 28-Jul-14 12:22:53 UTC from web in context
  25. Would "aliarchy" be an adequate name for Equestria's system of government, assuming it's ruled by alicorns? Is there a better word for that system?

  27. I think I'll use Pegathenian and Pegasan, because Pegasus has no distinction in name between ancient Greece and Rome apparently.
