  1. @scribus I’ve never been a single issue voter but I got real close in 2021 when a Republican (“independent” but only because the word “Republican” is a four-letter word in my district) candidate for local office promised to introduce legislation regulating the amount and cost of toll booths on the greenway, if the rest of his platform wasn’t so cartoonishly evil I might’ve been willing to cross over just for that.

  2. @scribus It’s those goddamn Australians, I tell ya hwat, they bought the road and put seven million toll booths on it. These are some of the cheaper ones. There’s a variable-rate booth coming out of DC, right near where I went to community college, that has charged me anywhere from just a dollar to $10 depending on the time and day.

  3. @scribus I dunno what’s more embarrassing: Believing Democrats have concocted an evil scheme to make everyone’s lives worse by using reverse psychology to get Republicans voting against things Republicans want, or watching Republicans fall for the reverse psychology mind games and still deciding to vote for them.

  4. @scribus the update DOES add sexual orientation and it’s surprisingly in-depth (albeit it is currently very gender binary), but that too is broken and is resulting in Sims rolling incestuous wants because the orientation check happens after the relationship check.

  5. @scribus I wouldn’t, at least not until they do at least a couple of bug fixes. Sims are currently aging up at random AT BEST, and at worst just straight up dying. It only affects long and short lifespans, and it’s actually an issue that has apparently existed for a few patches now, although I never encountered it before this one and the issue has verifiably been exasperated by something they did to the backend to support new features added by the High School expansion pack. And that’s just ONE of the problems… a lot of the new features are straight up broken and the new wants & fears system is actually less in-depth than the previous whims system, which it replaces, so… I don’t see many reasons to update ATM.

  6. @scribus Would YOU elect Donald Trump to a third term? We NEED your answer for our PATRIOT POLL.

  9. @scribus i briefly thought Hulu's only purpose was to hide the trash, but Fantastic Four is ALSO on Disney+, so...

  10. @scribus it’s more like he wandered into a secret underground room he shouldn’t have and lives there now. he’s fine. everyone’s fine. he’s just bitten off more than he can chew.

  11. @scribus I’ve lost track but I think at this point it’s six mothers total? That tree is a bit outdated now. My cloning program is going horribly right.

  12. @scribus It looks damn good but I'm not really in a mood for a brawler. Back in the day I played more Power Rangers The Movie on SNES because I didn't have Turtles in Time (only played as a rental at a friend's house).

  13. @scribus She watched me card a white guy with fully gray hair just before that, she was just trying to cause problems.

  14. @scribus Centaurworld was good. Not my jam but good. Carmen Sandiego was good. Glitch Techs is also very fun. Kipo and the Age of Wonderbeasts too. Kid Cosmic is a definitive recommendation. Dogs in Space is a good "nothing to see else"-watch.

  15. @scribus For a few reasons I also miss my Asus EEEPC 1000H keyboard. It was tiny but usable. It made me appreciate mapping Home, End, PgUp, and PgDwn to the arrow keys using the Fn Key. It made me like it so much that I remapped the "previous track", "next track", "play/pause", and "stop" buttons on the X201 keyboard to those in Linux.

  17. @scribus yes, and also because iMessage doesn’t work on Windows PCs. Kinda just thought they were trying to keep that ecosystem as closed as possible.

  19. @scribus Whenever I look up for something to know how it works I almost exclusively find videos that only scratch the surface of the thing and mostly those videos end up with "Now you know how it works". Tutorials are also a bane in my existence where the tutorial is more about everything else but the topic it tutorials about (including 1/3 of the video dedicating to personal banana of the video creator and a good portion to social media call to action blah blah).

  20. @scribus There is a sideloadable program "Heroic Game Launcher" that is a layer for the GOG and Epic store that allows to install their games with convenience.

  21. @scribus Pre-Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom? You’re taking your kids to that borderline R-rated cartoon.

  22. @scribus Kinda funny it was PG13 when it had no blood, Hitler, or fairy sex workers... but Bakshi's "Wizards" was only a PG.

  23. @scribus Occasionally my knees pop loudly as well. Not today, but there were days when walking up the stairs made of stone sound like they are wooden.
