  1. @scribus If you have the discs, yes. If not, there are no legal ways to get it digitally at ALL anymore. EA took it off of Origin because they were no longer supporting it and only previous owners can download it. For a while there was a product code you could put in to trigger a download but I think k it’s been taken off now.

  2. @scribus As any good cryptid should be. A hideous creepy crawler that "explains" a bad thing in life and that multiplies itself by inflicting more of the bad thing.

  3. @scribus I'd imagine more a creature that affects people/corporations to become greedy with ambitions that results in vaporware. I imagine a millipede and snake hybrid (tail end rattle snake, body millipede, head snake with fangs) with large bug antennae with floofy balls at the ends. The cryptid uses the floofy balls to distract the victim and hide its hideous body and then bits the victim at the back of the head. The fangs inject some kind of venom that causes the feature creep/greed, which itself causes headaches and frustration. That is the nourishment it needs to asexually reproduce itself and affect others in the company.

  6. @scribus Sethisto regularly sacrifices babies and in return he is blessed with viewers.

  7. @scribus I perceived the season more on the meh side. As much I appreciate the layoff narrative and commentary I think that the season was a little bit all over the place. The aftermath of the idol career was extremely side-lined and Retsuko's relationship plot with Haida was weirdly piecemealed. The rest was fine.

  12. @scribus I have the same feeling about oven-baked potato fries where 1/3 is about to get turned into charcoal, 1/3 is good, and the last 1/3 is barely done and the opposite of crispy.

  13. @scribus I'm not enthused. I wasn't happy with Merkel, at least she tried not to F-up everything. I'm not seeing that the replacement is going to be remotely good. Christian Democrats are here the right wing conservatives, and don't share much with my political ideology. I'm more left-leaning and a Pirate Party voter. At least I can say that I didn't vote for the dumbasses that are in power.

  14. @scribus I tried some anti-transpiration sprays and they mostly fail. Also I would need to cover my whole body with that stuff and it ain't worth it. Luckily I'm not a "stinker" and it gets all back to normal after half an hour.

  15. @scribus I wouldn’t. The whole thing’s a pyramid scheme. I’ve looked into it. Forgetting the environmental impact - my only personal qualm atm, though apparently that’ll change soon - something like 90% of NFT sales are back-and-forth transactions and the remaining 10% only profit if they’re the original seller. AFAIK very few profit from investment.

  16. @scribus more or less why getting to Maryland from here is such a hassle despite the town literally being on the state line. Should take five minutes. Ends up taking an hour and a half because there are only two bridges across the Potomac.

  17. @scribus kinda batcaveed how Los Angeles is simultaneously not a place to be walking around like New York, but ALSO has traffic as bad as New York

  18. @scribus If I played and would win then I were content with just a normal-sized house. Nothing fancy, which leaves more money to buy cool stuff. My house would need only a big enough space for a library for my current and future comics collection size.

  19. @scribus This is exactly how I feel about the newest version of Flash, they redesigned the interface for the first time in like twenty years and it feels like it was designed by a guy who’s never used Flash before

  20. @scribus I wasted so much time at the border in my life. Once we were stuck 24h. A Game Boy can only do so much.

  21. @scribus Well... My grandparents live 600km away. During these times I don't want that my mother uses a train, and I could see my grandparents as I haven't seen them for quite a while.
In the past my family drove to my grandparents 4 times a year and it took us 8 to 10 hours (slower car, border passing, crappier roads).

  22. @scribus that's the thing about whenever i see something like this, i can never find anything about it on local news because i live in the DC-Baltimore media market, so, anything that happens here is immediately overshadowed by two different mass shootings

  27. @scribus Had to have the police take a guy home because he was incredibly drunk, was just eating deli meat that he took off the shelves, and then fell asleep underneath a bench in the store. Problem is he lived really close by, so after the cops left he just… walked back over here and was back in literally half an hour later.

  28. @scribus I don’t have much else to add that others have already said better, but if I were a gun advocate (well, more than I already am) I’d be absolutely furious that the kid wasn’t locked up on at least the gun charge. Taking an illegal gun to a protest across state lines and then killing three guys with legally acquired guns really undercuts a lot of pro-gun arguments you usually hear.

  29. @scribus My whole life has been a series of "Is this the hill you want to die on?" scenarios, always responding with, "F*** yes" and it nearly almost always ending up favorably.

  30. @scribus Tire fenders are practically standard here as well as half-enclosed chain guards. Also a rack is basically standard, except for mountain and racing bikes. I just looked up and I found some after-market fully-enclosed chain guards. Only "Holland bikes" have the fully-enclosed bike chain guard out of the box. I guess I never put that much attention to that feature.
