  1. @scribus it's decently comfy, great atmosphere too so I can often get away with doing dick all and just talking to people

  2. @scribus That's because I'm a wizard. A wizard that creates worlds and concepts from nothing but weird incantations put into a seemingly infinite scrolling scroll that is put into a box.

  3. @scribus I work in land registration - for the past two years I've just been updating existing registers (registering/removing mortgages, adding/removing proprietors, noting changes of name, updating property addresses, so on), but starting next month I'll be triaging first registrations, meaning I actually get to look at 200 year old leases and title plans and stuff and decide what should/shouldn't go on the register. It sounds more interesting than it actually is but as far as careers go it's somewhat interesting and viable (also we literally hire more people a year than we have work available for lol)

  4. @scribus Aww, I hope that someone with a better job proposition comes along soon.

Not gonna lie, I have NO idea how 'that' works. But the best of luck nontheless.

  7. @scribus Yeah Yeah, that is why I did the eyebrow thing. I mean, Cmon, I can imagine a big strong black woman packing all sorts of heat and being really hot in the process.

Then again I can also see a guy being a total C-word ( which is not an offensive word in Australia ) ... I can also imagine that being hot

    I'm a #

  9. @scribus @drinkingpony Sub-zero doesn't kill them, considering they made a colony on the phone line box thing outside despite a week of antartic wind consistently dropping the temperature below 0ºC

Haven't tried suffocation. I've used alcohol and contact cleaner to completely clean them off but they show up again. They're probably airborne as there's no way they could have gotten inside the tv remote by contact.

  15. @scribus If you can wrap your head around Docker there may be some premade images that make your life easier.

  17. @scribus Get a container of water. small butt large opening containers work best IMHO.

If it floats, it's toast ( throw it away )
If it stands, it demands ( to be used straight away )
If it sinks, its still good methinks.

  18. @scribus Yup, that is the non dev name of the same beast that haunted me in my dreams for so long I do not even care to remember.

Worst time to do a study/school in IT.

  20. @scribus There is no real standard for VR interaction libraries. VRTK (that I use) is the most active but it has done some backwards decisions that is biting me in the back. Others are either paid, too stupid simple, or not maintained.

  21. @scribus about as good as usual lol, spent a couple days in hospital and will have to consider options soon but this is more or less my life now. apparently your lipids can just sort of swooce their way in front of your (and what's left of my) intestinal tract, apparently that just HAPPENS

  22. @scribus Yes but those mooks are going to say "I smashed capitalism, I smashed it good" not "I paid $8.99 to smash capitalism"

I do not think you should make it too obvious on that front.

Imagine what would happen if happen if Delaphine went "Buy my filthy bathwater and secure your place in loserdom" as a sales pitch. I mean, we are all thinking it, but it was not the sales pitch.

  24. @scribus I didn't bring up Diaspora because I assumed you'd like something similar to this more than something similar to faceplace.

Hmm, I wonder how much justinbfan.club would cost

  25. @scribus That's fair. I like StatusNet/GNUsocial most but the wider fediverse has mostly abandoned ostatus at this point, and they tend to decay over time and get really hard to mantain. The two "modern" options are Mastodon and Pleroma, of which I'd recommend the latter since 1.0 released last month, all the devs are reachable, it's less resource intensive and it follows FOSS development philosophy, while Mastodon goes the benevolent dictator for life way, and any additions need to get through the lead dev. Plus while this is a taste thing rather than an objective thing, pleroma is closer to the SN/GS UI while mastodon goes with a timeline divided in several columns which only is useful in very wide screens.

  26. @scribus Architectual feature or a mistress of butts?

Saturday, 06-Jul-19 10:41:48 UTC from web in context
  27. @scribus I know a few guys that can help you set up a pleroma server if you're interested, might get the lead dev to answer doubts when (if) he returns from the DPRK.

  28. @scribus Yeah, he's at @miki@pl.smuglo.li You are, of course, invited to make an account on any place that federates. You might not like smug since it's ran by a literal follows-hitler nazi, but there are politically neutral servers like SPC, niu.moe, aria.company, and a whole bunch of others.
