  8. @scribus There is also a new "Last Week Tonight" episode. We have "cynical dark reality" too.

  9. @scribus The best are also sponsor ads shoved randomly into the videos or podcasts. For example mattresses that can be ordered online. Who the hell orders mattresses online and why do they give 100 days to return the mattress? What happens with the used mattress? Does it go to another person? EEEEeeew!

  13. @scribus I don't know if that's the original. Just from my position it'd be less exhausting flying to NY (also because of the jet lag). Once I earn enough money with my new job I take a flight into consideration as part of my vacation.

  16. @scribus I'm like 2/3rds of the way to formulating a concept for a twitter bot that runs the various outspoken "Christian" members of American governments posts through nested translations and then treats the output as gospel.

  18. @scribus To be honest: While I like Rogue One in parts the whole thing is sub-par. Jyn Erso's motivation is as thin as it can get and the Cassian's assassination attempt was absolutely unnecessary. The Death Star is built. Chirrut and Baze are absolutely superfluous to the story, and Bodhi was very poorly integrated. It shows that the movie was reshot and what they kept felt very disjointed.

  21. @scribus I highly endorse reading this 12-issue series (collected in two TPBs, the second will be released very soon). It's the most biting social commentary set in the stone-age you've ever read. https://www.amazon.com/dp/1401268374/ https://www.amazon.com/dp/140127398X/ At first it turned me off because it was an edgier version of the Flintstones and the Scooby-Apocalypse comic series gave me a bitter taste on the whole Hanna-Barbera line at DC, however it won me over pretty quickly with clever satire and thought-provoking situations

  25. @scribus Part of the reason the G.I. Joe toyline has been failing is that "army guys in combat fatigues fighting terrorists" is the unfortunate reality for the parents of many American children

  30. @scribus I don't care. I just hope that in a non-Moffat Doctor Who series it'll return to more solid writing.
