  1. @scribus Me too. At least healthy old and not asshole old.

  2. @scribus I bought a locking nut that has a ring of nylon in the threads. I hope it will hold. I don't want to use Loctite as I fear it'll make problems in the future with maintenance. I have enough replacements right now. Whenever it will happen again I'll definitely try using Loctite.

  4. @scribus The thought did occur to me. The break was quite clean. Also I got the thought after the glue has already set. I also imagined if the handle breaks completely off that I get myself a good chunk of hard wood and make a wooden mug handle and glue it to the mug with an epoxy glue. The wooden handle wouldn't be dishwasher safe however it will transfer less heat.

  7. @scribus Haha. For this one-off it took me about 8 hours. As a fresh owner of a house there is much to do to fix up this old clunker. I also got this same suggestion from my friends to make this as a side hustle. But to be honest: I rather invest the time to make something for my friends than for complete strangers.

  8. @scribus I wouldn't get so far. It was competent enough. Netflix will have succeeded doing good adaptations when they finish a whole series without a blunder.

  9. @scribus I think too. Also I have the suspicion that the tool I bought is kind of flawed in both handling and execution https://i.imgur.com/rWLHU0z.jpeg It is made such that you put one end into the area with the Teflon sleeve and the other end to the metal hole. Both ends are then heated by a flame (candle, lighter) for a couple seconds and then pulled into the Teflon area and there the ends are pushed together while the plastic is hot. After it has cooled down the screws are loosened and the tool can be removed. The hole in the Teflon area is about 2mm in diameter while the plastic filament is 1.75mm. Ideally the hole should be the same or close in size. Either way pushing the filament into the hole while it's melted is hard as the filament itself tends to naturally curl because it has been wound up on a spool before and hand-straightening is not really easy or effective enough. I need to shave off the extra bulge back to 1.75mm in order to prevent clogs. Wasn't expensive tough.

  10. @scribus my current plan is to stand around door and watch it so I can at least say I did something when they review cameras, ain’t getting close to these psychos though. My hero complex doesn’t run THAT strong.

  11. @scribus It would be more if I didn't had the tax guy and did it by myself but it's a piece of mind worth the loss. Cannot tell how much time it saves me. It took me half an hour getting through all my papers, optimize some little things, berating me not having enough expenses as I didn't reach a threshold for a bigger tax payback, and getting it ready to send to the tax office.

  13. @scribus At this point it has become a footnote in history and lost any kind of cultural significance beyond furry porn. There were a few films in the cinema but they were purely driven by nostalgia. I haven't seen any child wearing any kind of Digimon T-shirt or alike in a very very very long while. Also the name only pops up in conjunction with: "Do you remember Digimon?". Digimon can be considered functionally dead from my point of view. My interest in Digimon died somewhere in the first third of the Digimon Tamers TV Series and it was not big before.

  14. @scribus But they are forbidden! At least these are. Horrible nutritional value.

  15. @scribus As a 100 % T-shirt wearer I feel that what you mean. Right now it's the rough side of the leather that feels a little scratchy as well as the stitching.

  19. @scribus second this, I switched to them a while ago. I haven't really gotten a chance to use them aside from a few small cuts here and there (which is a positive I suppose) but my experience with them has been positive.

  22. @scribus Yeah. That's why I immediately gravitated towards that. I wanted to use them in my last adventure but my players avoided getting into the sewers. The Malleables can also be split voluntarily or upon receiving 20hp of damage from a single attack. https://www.5esrd.com/database/creature/malleable-moderate/ https://www.5esrd.com/database/creature/malleable-major/ https://www.5esrd.com/database/creature/malleable-minor/

  23. @scribus Of course. The sewers will have gelatinous cubes with unicorn giblets and ordinary slimes. I also take a monster called "Malleable" from Tome of Beasts 2 from Kobold Press. This monster is somewhat a slime but it can merge from smaller parts to a bigger and more powerful monster. The smaller ones will foreshadow the gigantic one. It is also psychic has the urge to grow bigger and merge with other flesh. It'll be a good challenge for my hyper-efficient D&D group.

  25. @scribus There is no need to. There are basically weekly blood donations all around town. The thing is that I'm always too tired to get to them.

Saturday, 09-Dec-23 16:40:52 UTC from web in context
  26. @scribus I'm a universal donor. I always feel bad whenever I see a blood donation poster or mobile station as I'm always too exhausted, have no time, or feel slightly ill to donate. I want to donate from time to time but it doesn't serve anyone when I'm compromised.

  29. @scribus AFAIK there is no Go in the Yakuza/Like a Dragon series. There are other equally unappealing games like Koi-Koi, Oicho-Kabu, and Hanafuda.
