@tabithastgherkin *shrugs* I've never heard of them. The name just comes from the Greek goddess of night. Technically, the Nyx in my story isn't much of a character, anyway. It's like... somewhat-sentient energy. In the form of a planet. That can sort-of-not-quite possess people... It's a weird story.

I have luck. In a few weeks there is a planned bomb defuse in the middle of my city but I live outside of the evacuation area. 200m nearer I had to be evacuated. The bomb is from WWII.

@fortecanter Not really awesome for those who have to be evacuated. About 20000 people have to get out of there. The whole public transportation system would be down for about 5 hours.

Don't know how many others knew this & don't care. I looked up "Alicorn". it's not actually a unicorn with pegasus wings or a pegasus with a unicorn horn. It's just the substance that a unicorn horn was said to be made from. :P

@fencingblind I used to know a couple of Equines, which is where I picked the word up from. The consensus was that it sounded a heck of a lot better than "Pegacorn"

Also apparently there's a ruby at the base of a unicorn horn called the carbuncle that's the source of their magic. Or something. In any case, I also agree that alicorn sounds a lot better than pegacorn, although pegacorn also doesn't sound... legit. Who here is well-versed in mythology?
