#totw Rarity looked confused. It was a rock. Hours of following her horn, all for a big rock. As she looked up at the towering stone an explosion filled the sky with bright light, the shadow of the giant stone engulfing her. Rarity was stunned, staring at that monolithic boulder. It looked almost otherworldly with the massive explosion behind it. Her reverential gaze was broken when a piece of retaining wall smashed into the boulder, cleaving it in two and revealing as a treasure trove of gems. Rarity was frozen to the spot, eyes taking in the sight before her. was this what her magic wanted her to see? This magic that could lead to so much prestige and fabulousness. She needed to try it. Walking over to another pile of rocks, she crouched down and picked one up. after examining it she proceeded to bash it on another nearby rock. It broke, revealing more gems. "Of course!" She exclaimed. "Hitting rocks with other rocks gives you gems! And only I know!! With this I will be rich!!!!"

#totw The explosion ripped through Celestia's School for Gifted Unicorns, A fireball Blossoming in the middle of Canterlot, and visible across the country. Rainbow Dash didn't spend much time watching it though. She was too worried staring at the large chunk of admissions office flying towards Cloudsdale Orphanage. She knew the situation was dire, but in a flash of inspiration she knew exactly what to do. Dashing to the weather factory, she quickly grabbed a large Cumulonimbus and moved to intercept. Grinning she primed the cloud, mind racing as she worked out the variables. Then, with a swift buck, she sent a powerful lightning bolt into the rubble. The stone exploded, Small pieces of debris flying everywhere. Dash grinned as she watched the stones fall to earth, away from Cloudsdale, and congratulated herself on a job well done. Pausing, she muttered "wasn't there a town down there? Ponyville or something? Oh well". She then wandered off, not noticing the flash coming from her flank.

#totw Twilight Sparkle glared at the egg. Why wasn't it working? Why wasn't anything working? She'd tried Life spells, Growth spells, heck, she'd even tried Necromancy. Frowning, she scrambled to think of a spell, any spell, that could help. As she did this she found herself smiling. This was kind of fun. The puzzle, the pressure. Her grin got wider and wider. This is what magic is about! A battle between pony and nature. It was all so clear! This is what the test must be about!! To create a spark of curiosity in the students... Wait... Spark... Fire... Heat... That's it!!! Of course a dragon egg must need intense heat to hatch!!! Twilight paused. She didn't know any high level fire spells... But maybe she didn't need to. Her horn began to glow brightly. The audience watched as... nothing happened. Suddenly one of the judges asked "Is it me, or is it hard to breathe?" Celestia frowned and asked What are you doing young filly?" Twilight grinned "Making hydrogen".

#totw Golden Harvest paused. It wasn't that the ceiling was orange, it was that everything was orange, as if she were seeing things through an orange filter. She panicked. Was her sleep paralysis getting worse? She tried to blink but her eyelids didn't move... No! She couldn't feel them! This was bad, What was going on here? was she still asleep? Was this some kind of Nightmare? No, it felt too real. But if it wasn't a dream... Then why did everything seem so big? A breeze blew in through her open window and ruffled her mane, blowing some of it in front of her eyes. She paused her inner ramblings, socked as she saw it. She tried to remember if her mane had ever been green... and leafy. Wait! Green top... orange body... small... At that moment, A giant white creature jumped into her sight. It's black, beady eyes stared at her as a smirk rose around it's buck teeth. A smile of triumph. She couldn't even scream as the mouth closed around her.
