@minti Well there /is/. If all you were to actually do with it is run the mailserver, you could probably reliably fit postfix onto one of AWS's freebie instances, or the DigitalOcean $5 a month plan, if you've got money. Then just configure your SN instance to log into the server via IMAP and firewall the mailserver to only accept inbound connections from SBN's main server.

@vt3c It almost saddens me how so many people are unable to grasp what SBN is supposed to be. The "dumping ground" part came after a second generation of users went to the place. It was at first just a place where everyone could talk freely but nobody went too over the line because they were grown people. I don't expect you'll ever understand it though.

@minti On the "add" command it saves the ID of the notice it replies to it with. On the "approve welome" command, it checks that notice's in-reply-to and approves the welcome with that ID stored.

@minti what is the advantage of CentOS? I'm curious because my school used it for a while.

@pony You'd have to ask someone else. All I know is that CentOS is a lot more for the people who like to customize the system down to the very bare bones compared to other distros where a lot of stuff is pre-baked which makes it easier to use off the bat but generally slower as it has a lot of useless clutter in the kernel etc. I think. xD

@theponymancer I had @neurario on a different site that I recently set up, and was going to post from there. So I changed my name here so that people didn't get too confused. Unfortunately that account is sort of useless right now since the thing that let me post to Twitter from it is broken and nobody really uses personal timelines.
