@colfax No, British TV went when we tried to imitate the US programmes. It was okay to show yank telly, but somewhere in the mid '90s, all of the programmes created here started to be more 'American' if you know what I'm saying.

@colfax The word I'm looking for isn't in my head. I don't think the differences between British culture and Yank culture can be summed up in a single word anyway.

@ndogmario That I believe that UK produced television has changed in the last 20 years. I believe that the programmes created now seem to be aimed more at the US viewers, and less at the UK ones.
