!bcbronies Alright. Once again. I know a lot of you are hoping to post all your footage all over the place, but please only post it sparingly. If you upload images on Facebook, be careful who you tag. At this point, we cannot confirm whether or not Hasbro's cool with us having had the crew at the meetup, and until we can get a more concrete idea of how to present this, I want to keep this as LOW-KEY AS POSSIBLE. Thank you. We have accessed what contacts we can to try to determine what we can do, but we won't know until tomorrow night at the earliest.

@seanprice !bcbronies Check the doc. Meetup in the mornin'. You should be good hangin' with any of us, I figure. http://mlpf.im/BcFinale
-
@jackzhang As is standard with my work schedule, there's no way I'm ever going to be able to attend the Saturday meetup. Any chance you could upload the file on Mediafire and send it to bronymike@derpymail.com when it's done? Thanks for the awesome filmwork, by the way.
-
!bcbronies Big thanks to Puzzld, Tequila, Tesla, Echron, Bejoty, those guys with cameras, those guys with the episodes, art dude, snack-bringers, and of course the staff. I apologize for my horrible HORRIBLE memory when it comes to recognizing people, and I apologize even more about how I probably won't remember a lot of your names next time I see you. This went fantastically well.
-
!bcbronies And I will also give my thanks for the fantastic day as well. I gave a couple notes on etiquette issues I'd like to address at http://mlpf.im/BcFinale as well as details on the meetup for anyone goin' to Fan Expo tomorrow as well. For the most part, everyone and everything was completely fine, but I hope everyone reads it just to make sure we're on the same page. @thepuzzldpirate I was gonna ask about the extra funds. Children's Hospital, eh? That's FANTASTIC. Also, I've sent an email to EqD regarding posting people's footage. A reminder, please refrain from submitting your footage, the staff didn't all get the go-ahead to actually attend this and I'd like to avoid any issues that could theoretically come of this.

@tesla500 2:30 at the earliest, maybe aim for 2:45 or 2:50. Thanks again.
-
@thepuzzldpirate Can you email me your phone number at bronymike@derpymail.com? We should keep in touch during the con.
-
@pinhooves !bcbronies All meetup details are here. http://mlpf.im/BcFinale
-
!bcbronies Holy hell, this is gonna be the best finale screening/meetup ever. More special guests could be on board, and Shiropoint (that guy what makes all them thar fancy-papayas amazing vids) is showing interest. @thepuzzldpirate, if somehow we're turning people down like crazy and this winds up being freakishly super-popular, I'm thinkin' it might be wise to do three screenings instead. 4, 5, and 6. Just a thought. Also, does anyone think they could make some signs or something, to help people know where this stuff's taking place?
-
@jackzhang !bcbronies Gotcha. What I'd gathered was that it was basically "go somewhere, be noisy, leave". Still slightly concerned about hurtin' the brony image a little, at least if we look like big ol' idiots while we do it, but hey, if you can figure out a good place for us to hang out and sing some tunes (is there some sort of frantic dancing involved too or something? If so ehh, depends on tone of the song), say it here and we'll figure out what do. Were you thinking of doing it at the con? I forget, are you attending?
-
@jackzhang !bcbronies I'm not sure it's the best idea. Bronies have a sketchy enough reputation with people in other fandoms and in the public in general as it is without us noisily bothering them with our songs. If we do anything like that, I'd at the very least urge that we do it in a place where we won't be bugging anyone or getting in their way. I don't know, I'm not that familiar with flash mobs.
-
!bcbronies @tesla500 We're gonna have the second screening either way, I figure. Looks like some people can only come to the later one, so it's the nicest option. We've got the room for that long anyway, so why not. @jackzhang Have you also got a tripod or something, so you don't have to stand up and face the opposite direction of the projection for the whole time? Heh.
-
!bcbronies So, here's what we've got. I've updated the doc ( http://mlpf.im/BcFinale ) with info on meetin' up at the convention. To non-convention-goers, did you determine anything about a pre-library meetup for the day? If so, lemme know, I'll put it in the doc. We'll probably do the same meetup routine on Sunday if it works out.

@jackzhang Sweet! Too bad she isn't coming, but thanks for tryin'.
-
!bcbronies @spectrumflash Yeah, the torch/cauldron was just an example. What cemented it as being the west building was actually that on the schedule's map it says "Room 109 is located on ground level", and on the centre's website's map, there is indeed a room 109 on ground floor of the west building. I think the raindrop could be our best bet. If it's too rainy, we'll try to find somewhere nearby or just all cram into the food court. I'll add some details to the doc later today. If it works, those of us coming Sunday can probably meet at the same time/place then, too.
-
@thepuzzldpirate Wait, food court? I thought we were meeting at some parkade. Where is the entrance to the conference room? People are going to all be showing up at different times, and I want them to be as not-lost as possible. A street name or at least some sort of directions (other than "at the library") is gonna be needed, or people WILL get lost. The library takes up a whole block.
-
@noise Pay attention to the group. We're planning it.
-
@spectrumflash !bcbronies They've got parking at the east one, but the con's at the west one (which was surprisingly hard to determine for sure, but then the photos seem to focus on that building), the one with big open areas next to it where we could meet. It's a convention morning, food court's gonna be packed. Going and warming up and getting breakfast/coffee is a good plan, but the main meetup spot should be somewhere open and outdoors and as close to the centre as possible (pref. to the side of it). That would be the easiest for newcomers to the area to spot. A fairly visible landmark would be good, something like the Olympic Torch or another sculpture or something.
-
!bcbronies My Discord outfit's gonna just make me look like some homeless dude who wandered into the convention

!bcbronies Alright, I've got a damn busy few days up ahead and will have minimal time for planning. Does ANYONE live or work near the convention centre who could stop by and check out a good meeting spot for the morning of Fan Expo Saturday? Unless anyone objects, I still say meeting in a specific spot at anywhere from like 9:15-10:00 would be the best way to all get together and figure out the day's schedule. @thepuzzldpirate The library's freakin' huge, is there a specific street this parkade's on that you could give to help direct people?
-
!bcbronies Alright, I tossed up some legal mumbo-jumbo regarding people being photographed. Once again, details here: http://mlpf.im/BcFinale. Anyway, tomorrow and Friday I'll see what I can find out through GMaps StreetView or something and try to plan meetup spots. I still think something like 9:30 (or earlier) until 10:00 would be a good time to meet up at whatever spot we pick, though.
Thursday, 19-Apr-12 07:16:14 UTC from web -
@jackzhang Wait, camera they use to film news? Does that warning mean we're all gonna wind up looking like super-autistic fat manchildren? Is there a "Fox News" on/off switch?
-
@mcbrony Ah, I recall this. Classic. Very positive.
-
!bcbronies ...alright, I never hit Enter, but whatever. Gonna have to ask Big Puzzy (@thepuzzldpirate) about that, I reckon.
Thursday, 19-Apr-12 05:24:43 UTC from web -
!bcbronies @phunkymat No clue yet regarding at-the-con meetups. It's been a busy few weeks. Hopin' for something along the lines of meetin' from 9:30-10:00AM somewhere on the right side of the convention centre, then goin' in once it opens, but I'm all the way down in White Rock and don't have any way of surveying the area, so I was hoping someone a bit more in-the-area could sess it out over the next day or two and find good meeting places that EVERYONE isn't gonna wind up using, or at least would be big enough to have multiple bunches of people meeting up. Surely there are gonna be a bunch of little groups of people meeting, so we'll need to be strategic about this. This also ties into @snazzy101's question about the specifics of the library. I'm not from the area, so I won't be able to provide better details as to what the heck "the parkade" refers to or how we enter from there. Gonna have to ask
-
!bcbronies Alrighty. So, before I frantically start studying for the final exams (oh good god it's plural) I've got tomorrow, I'd just like to remind people yet again that we have a second screening planned, so you can feel free to invite a bunch of your friends again, as long as the complete total number doesn't go above 120. Once again, the finale meetup details are here: http://mlpf.im/BcFinale. If there's anything you think I should add to or edit in the document, lemme know. It might not get edited until tomorrow night or maybe Thursday, though, tomorrow's gonna be crazy for me. Everyone feel free to scout out and plan some meeting locations for the morning of the con, though. There are big pier-like walkways to either side of the convention centre, we could meet pretty much anywhere. Also, I think this John DeLancie photo op has to be paid for, and I have no idea if there's a max number of people that can be in it. Someone look into it. I'll be back Thursday. 1000 characters YES
