  1. !bcbronies Alright, I've got a damn busy few days up ahead and will have minimal time for planning. Does ANYONE live or work near the convention centre who could stop by and check out a good meeting spot for the morning of Fan Expo Saturday? Unless anyone objects, I still say meeting in a specific spot at anywhere from like 9:15-10:00 would be the best way to all get together and figure out the day's schedule. @thepuzzldpirate The library's freakin' huge, is there a specific street this parkade's on that you could give to help direct people?

    1. @bronymike !bcbronies The VFE is taking place in the East (old) convention center, and I don't think there are many good places just outside. However, there is Waterfront Centre where there is a food court with a Tim Horton's and McDonald's (and lots of other things) that we could congregate (and caffeinate) in while waiting.

      1. @spectrumflash !bcbronies They've got parking at the east one, but the con's at the west one (which was surprisingly hard to determine for sure, but then the photos seem to focus on that building), the one with big open areas next to it where we could meet. It's a convention morning, food court's gonna be packed. Going and warming up and getting breakfast/coffee is a good plan, but the main meetup spot should be somewhere open and outdoors and as close to the centre as possible (pref. to the side of it). That would be the easiest for newcomers to the area to spot. A fairly visible landmark would be good, something like the Olympic Torch or another sculpture or something.

        1. @bronymike !vancouverbronies The Canada Place exit to Waterfront Station should do. I might just join you guys and plunker down $20 just to hang out at the expo before heading to the screening.

        2. @bronymike !bcbronies Huh, everything I found made it look like it was in East. I think the Torch area might be overly popular for meetups. There's another sculpture on the east side of the West building - a big blue raindrop, which is right outside the Irish pub there.

          1. !bcbronies @spectrumflash Yeah, the torch/cauldron was just an example. What cemented it as being the west building was actually that on the schedule's map it says "Room 109 is located on ground level", and on the centre's website's map, there is indeed a room 109 on ground floor of the west building. I think the raindrop could be our best bet. If it's too rainy, we'll try to find somewhere nearby or just all cram into the food court. I'll add some details to the doc later today. If it works, those of us coming Sunday can probably meet at the same time/place then, too.

            1. @bronymike !bcbronies Ah, I was only looking quickly before I left to catch the train this morning. Silly website. Oh well, it is their first year after all. So far, weather forecasts seem to concur that Saturday will be the nicest day of the weekend, as well as DRY. But, this is Vancouver, and our local weather pegasi change their minds on a whim...

            2. @bronymike !bcbronies Oops, forgot to say: Yeah, let's go with the Raindrop as the meetup point. East side of the centre. Here's what it looks like: http://derpy.me/h0xzR

          2. @spectrumflash Oh, is that what that thing is? My lunchtime runs at work usually take me past that.

            1. @tequilasunrise Eeyup! I like to think of it as one of Derpy's Mistakes In Weather Monumentized :)
