I just feel like KYM Is obviously there to ridicule us and document the whole thing for the internet to deride. It's obvious the brony community is sort of a laughingstock to the outside anyway..

@renna I really hope they aren't. I don't seem to get that vibe either. I mean, there've been plenty of positive articles on us in mainstream media anyways.

@renna That could be it :/ Honestly though, if you've looked at some of the press coverage we've gotten, it's generally positive. The internet has a tendency to be a murdock quite often.

@gangstashy I've also found that a lot of it is nicely understanding! That Screwattack magazine article was... not a good example though, I must say.

@gangstashy Was posted on EqD yesterday. Yeah, I really appreciate that they were trying to get both the brony and non-brony side of the equation... but talk about extremes! I have no problem with people disliking the show, but the first chap has some pretty harsh, generalised assessments of the community. He also swears like a Starship Trooper and cannot seem to focus... but they were not my prime concerns, tbh. The second one is just a series of straightforward questions to a whole heap of bronies (which is nice, I suppose)... but its kind of a jarring contrast, and doesn't really attempt any sort of analysis (that probably wasn't the point though). I guess I would have liked a more even-handed middle ground...

@ceruleanspark Thats very true. However, I've followed Screwattack for a while... and they've always seemed quite reasonable and level-headed. They haven't really explored the Brony community much, so I guess I am pleased that they tried to get two sides of the story...

@pawnheart I really hate it when they do articles that look at the terrible side of the fandom. That first one just seemed like the writer was touting how much of a man he is because he didn't play with girls toys and has cherriess.

@gangstashy It wouldn't have irked me so much if he hadn't tried to validate his own opinion by basically saying 'Oh, I played with a Barbie once, when I was 9. I am a melting pot of sensitivity. I can judge you all now'.

Excerpt: ...the facade of traditional gender roles is fragile at best; it requires constant vigilance to maintain, and with all this constant policing and fussing it’s only natural that you’re going to notice when someone else does something you’ve trained yourself to spot as being outside of self-imposed norms.
