  1. Seriously, I haven't seen RDN this slow in months. Here, have a conversation topic - Loads of people talk about how awesome it would be to goto Equestria, but how would it be if ponies came to Earth?

    1. @scribuskrueger Probably pretty bad; no doubt certain people would try 'scientifically' to figure out how they talk and use magic <.<

Sunday, 09-Oct-11 06:19:12 UTC from web
      1. @tenmihara That would be a nightmare, indeed. I'd wonder if they would suddenly make magic *real* and accessible, or if they would be the only ones with it?

Sunday, 09-Oct-11 06:20:29 UTC from web
        1. @scribuskrueger I think the pony magic is either inherent to the unicorn species, or native to Equestria (being a separate reality with different rules of physics and such)

Sunday, 09-Oct-11 06:22:50 UTC from web
          1. @tenmihara So should we hope it's inherent to unicorns so they wouldn't be stripped of power, or native to Equestria so they won't be experimented on?

    2. @scribuskrueger Oh my Luna I'd love that to happen. :o

Sunday, 09-Oct-11 06:19:34 UTC from web
      1. @pinhooves Now I realize that my topic left a few things vague-ish. I suppose I did only say that *ponies* came to Earth - we should remain free of dragons, hydra, and (real) parasprites. :p

        1. @scribuskrueger Oh, and don't forget Discord. >.>

          1. @pinhooves Oh, dear Luna... Discord...

    3. @scribuskrueger If cartoon equestrian ponies came to earth, we'd see unimaginable acts of human indecency before worldwide freindship that's uncertainly for sure. :p

Sunday, 09-Oct-11 06:23:06 UTC from web
      1. @deadmachine sadly this is true; while Bronies (for them most part) have discovered the magic of friendship, too much of the world is lacking it

Sunday, 09-Oct-11 06:24:25 UTC from web
      2. @deadmachine I hate to sound cynical, but I can imagine some pretty heavy human indecency - I just try my best not to.

Sunday, 09-Oct-11 06:26:25 UTC from web
    4. @scribuskrueger They shouldn't come to Earth, it's a terrible place to live... I'd be out of here in a hot minute if the opportunity ever presented itself.

      1. @colfax I like to try to convince myself that it's the horrors of Earth that make good things really stand out, and therefore makes them good. Sometimes I fail miserably.

Sunday, 09-Oct-11 06:25:30 UTC from web
        1. @scribuskrueger Can't have sweet without sour! Ponies would be a bit less entertaining without all those antagonists!

Sunday, 09-Oct-11 06:26:47 UTC from web
          1. @deadmachine And yet, with such widespread agreement that things are relative and comparative, people keep trying to define absolute truths... :p

Sunday, 09-Oct-11 06:28:23 UTC from web
            1. @scribuskrueger Heh yep well.. those in power want to make others think they have the right idea. We don't even need to do it on purpose, it's a naturally occurring thing!

Sunday, 09-Oct-11 06:30:03 UTC from web
              1. @deadmachine I think it's just a desire to have things pinned down and absolute on all parts; we want to *understand* and you just can't "know" something that's not concrete.

        2. @scribuskrueger Yeah... I gave up on that kind of hopeless optimism a really really long time ago, I think it was right about the time I started going to school.

Sunday, 09-Oct-11 06:28:22 UTC from StatusNet Desktop
          1. @colfax I kind of wish I knew how I managed to hold onto it so long. Especially when I start to let it slip.

Sunday, 09-Oct-11 06:30:29 UTC from web
            1. @scribuskrueger There's nothing quite like having an existential crisis right in the middle of your kindergarten class...

Sunday, 09-Oct-11 06:34:57 UTC from StatusNet Desktop
              1. @colfax I bet.

Sunday, 09-Oct-11 06:35:33 UTC from web
                1. @scribuskrueger Well, it was that and getting hit by the whole "why, in Odin's name, am I surrounded by all these dribbling idiots" thing at the same time that made me less than popular with the rest of the class... and the teacher... and the principal... and the school nurse... and the janitor.

Sunday, 09-Oct-11 06:39:01 UTC from StatusNet Desktop
                  1. @colfax I always looked at it as, "I do it, and it's easy. People can do so much better than they are - why don't they?"

Sunday, 09-Oct-11 06:40:48 UTC from web
                    1. @scribuskrueger Because it's not easy enough for them and they're afraid they'll look weak if they doit.

Sunday, 09-Oct-11 06:42:34 UTC from StatusNet Desktop
                      1. @colfax Then we must teach them to conquer fear! Channel their indifference in the proper direction! Or, maybe it's just Saturday night and I've been drinking. Shoot - it *IS* Saturday here, right? . . . Okay, good, it is.

Sunday, 09-Oct-11 06:44:12 UTC from web
                        1. @scribuskrueger It's sunday morning and, sadly, I'm not drinking.

Sunday, 09-Oct-11 06:46:39 UTC from StatusNet Desktop
                          1. @colfax Yeah, I'm not, either, any more... Just finished the last of it.

      2. @colfax The Doctor Whooves fic 'Mines of Dragon Mountain' has the Doctor discussing exactly this idea. He comments on how much more tame the Equestrian Universe is compared to our own

        1. @tenmihara Not to mention that the two big threats of those stories both find their origins in our universe ><
