  1. You know, parents? There's a lot worse you can get swept into than benign love and tolerance! You guys remember Black Sabbath? We're not that generation! You guys remember the hippies? We're not that generation! We're not going to go get stuck on drugs, we're not going to go cause needless riots! We are going to LOVE and TOLERATE the $H!T out of you!

    1. @musicssound You do realize the "needless riots" you're talking about was the American civil rights movement, right?

Sunday, 27-Nov-11 19:30:24 UTC from web
      1. @thatonepony Not those. There have been others.

Sunday, 27-Nov-11 19:30:59 UTC from web
        1. @musicssound It was still a stupid thing to say.

Sunday, 27-Nov-11 19:31:51 UTC from web
          1. @thatonepony Shall I repost without that phrase then?

Sunday, 27-Nov-11 19:32:56 UTC from web
            1. @musicssound Feel free. I still think it's an unintelligent thing to say. "I know, let's take an aggressive stance in tolerance! THAT'S A GOOD IDEA" I also disagree with it. That does not encompass all bronies. I, for one, love and tolerate very little. I don't mean that as a joke, either, I legitimately hate tones of stuff. That isn't going to change because I like ponies. WE ARE NOT A RELIGION.

              1. @thatonepony No, we're not. And that's part of my point. I'm not being aggressive. I'm not using it as a battlecry. I'm not saying, "To me!" I'm saying, let us alone. We're not going to be like the others, so let us be who we want.

Sunday, 27-Nov-11 19:38:45 UTC from web
                1. @musicssound "And that's our battle cry." And that, children, is how you beat yourself in an argument.

Sunday, 27-Nov-11 19:41:08 UTC from web
                  1. @thatonepony ...No subtlety in you, I see. We aren't fighting. If I had meant that, I would have included it in the original post. I was just thinking of the several ways I could completely defeat my argument, and I posted one as a joke. I am an idiot, true, but I think I have a valid point.

Sunday, 27-Nov-11 19:42:55 UTC from web
                    1. @musicssound A valid point that should not be applied to the community as a whole. How can we be angry at people for stereotyping us when we do it ourselves? If that is something you believe, feel free to share your opinions, but understand that your opinion is not my opinion, and that we are nor a hivemind.

                      1. @thatonepony I've already said I'm not speaking for you. I'm speaking for the ones who are fed up with their parents not accepting them over this show. So, don't agree with me. Don't include yourself among this group, if you don't want. *fluttervoice* I'm trying to be more assertive.

                  2. @thatonepony Thanks for being the reason we never accomplish anything...Freaking internet. I now see the point of blogs, you don't get as many downers, they all ignore you on your own turf. Course, you don't get as many views if you have nothing beyond a single point. You just can't win, huh?

                    1. @musicssound I'm not being a downer, I'm just telling you that making statements like your original post are EXACTLY the reason that someone might consider us rebels in the first place. All I'm doing is pointing out how counterproductive you're being.

Sunday, 27-Nov-11 19:49:44 UTC from web
                      1. @thatonepony You can't get much said without a speaker.

                      2. @thatonepony Anyway, those parents aren't checking this site now, are they? I needed to say something, and I said it...Yeah, counterproductive is the key word. I'm done, move on, finish the podcast.

                        1. @musicssound apples you and kiwi @abigpony. I am not doing that again.

                          1. @thatonepony Alright, fine, move on, don't finish the podcast. My point stands there, at least.

          2. @thatonepony When I say "needless" I freaking mean needless. Why do you assume I went against that? Actually, the parallel I was talking to was in the 90's, anyway.

    2. @musicssound Indeed if only parents would understand

Sunday, 27-Nov-11 19:30:33 UTC from web
    3. @musicssound And that's our battle cry.

Sunday, 27-Nov-11 19:30:44 UTC from web
    4. @abigpony Good question.

Sunday, 27-Nov-11 19:32:06 UTC from web
    5. @musicssound My parents raised me on Black Sabbath and the Grateful Dead.

Sunday, 27-Nov-11 19:34:08 UTC from web
      1. @scribus Ok, my point in saying Black Sabbath was to say, "Hey, we're not going to get swept into metal just to spite you." I'm not saying it's bad music, and I love their message, but them, and their followers at the time, seemed to be on completely different wavelengths.

Sunday, 27-Nov-11 19:35:59 UTC from web
        1. @musicssound Oh, okay then. I wasn't in England in the early 70s, so I really don't know about that. :p

    6. @abigpony Well enough. We'll know the truth. And we will accomplish something, at any rate. I'll see to that if no one else does.
