  1. @ceruleanspark (writing from work) Consider how Hasbro has taken notice of the brony community with the new pony figures coming out (white Celestia, Trixie, Zecora, Nightmare Moon, Scratch/DJ-PON3) and it seems obvious that the episode in which Derpy became canonized stands to get them a lot of money. Hasbro saw their brony fans make an impact on sales already and I don't believe they would just ignore that for trying to be PC.

    1. @primesonic I'm always writing from work, heh. I think you're overestimating the brony community influence on this most recent wave. Hasbro had already made toys of Trixie and Heartstrings, and the idea that they might make toys based on show characters is neither here not there. The only one not accountable by conventional economics is Vinyl Scratch.

    2. @primesonic And arguably, Vinyls inclusion is more to do with the Hub specifically using her in their advertising spots (Equestria Girls, specifically)

      1. @ceruleanspark I guess we can only hope the continued support from the creative team at some point makes an impact on this whole messy situation.

        1. @primesonic The situation isn't messy in the slightest. What do you mean?

          1. @ceruleanspark Well, whatever (un)official statements may say or not, if the episode is still not up for legal purchase, something still isn't wrapped up.

            1. @primesonic Ah, so we're talking about the episode specifically. I suspect the explanation for that is as prosaic as "The guy who normally does this stuff quit and we're just winging it until we get a replacement"

              1. @ceruleanspark For the love of all things Derpy, I hope you're right.

                1. @primesonic Well, they sent The Last Roundup to the DVD people on time and unaltered, so I'm guessing incompetance on behalf of the digital distribution team.
