@jimmythetiger Well, what sort of projects do you see yourself wanting to work with? Web based things, or "true" applications? Whilst they're not incompatible with one another, It can make your roadmap a lot easier to actually know where you're going in the end.

@ceruleanspark I was thinking of starting off with something like HTML or JavaScript before getting into things like C++

@jimmythetiger Webpage layouts, scripting, and desktop applications are all very different from each other. WE're talking about not only different ways to write but also different ways to think. So, you're thinking about going into web development first?

@primesonic As a general rule, I tend to consider web coding and web design essentially different disciplines, in order to maintain proper separation of logic and presentation.

@ceruleanspark After suffering through it myself, I wholeheartedly agree with you on that. Backend coding to me comes naturally but when it comes to layout and presentation... well, let's just say it ain't pretty.
