          @doates she seems such an arbitrary choice for the fanbase's icon. There's nothing particularly great about her. Why not one of the mane 6 or even a better looking background pony?

            @pony Possibly the only other background pony the fanbase chose was Doctor Whooves, only that no one complained when he kept on changing from an earth pony to a pegasus every now and then.

              @doates This is difficult for me. I usually pick up why something is popular pretty quickly.. Maybe I'm loosing touch, or maybe I just had to be there in the beginning when she first started to become popular to understand why..

                @pony My only question towards this fanbase is that why do we need a character as a symbol of our fanbase? Yes derpy was the first one chosen, then doctor whooves, then trixie, then pinkie pie and then after that Rainbow Dash. We choose so many characters, we might as well just state that the show represents us, not just one character.

I am personally a strong supporter of the whole # movement, and I have voted on the petition and sent an email to Habsro and Hasbro respectively.
