!ottawabronies They probably did it because Tabitha St. Germain mistook Derpy for a stallion rather than a mare, so she did a male voice. It had to be corrected, if nothing else. And someone, somewhere, may have panicked on copyright.

@cakewalk !ottawabronies I doubt anyone's copyrighted the name Derpy Hooves, although it may have been that Hasbro needed to do that, just in case. Or maybe a brony has done that and Hasbro got blindsided. Or some flunky at Hasbro knows fandom and went, "Oh no."

@nightbreak Well, I think much of the appeal comes from the fact that the fandom named her.. she's the fandom's 'baby' so to speak. Not to mention the fact that people love making backstories for her (daughter Dinky, and such) so I'm sure you could see where they're coming from.

@nightbreak !ottawabronies The true reason is because some people where offended by derpy's conduct and voice style thinking that they are mocking mentally handicapped people, and Hasbro didn't want to have to face a lawsuit.

@baolia Fun fact: I found the pony in the reading episode more offensive than Derpy. I don't see why they would ban Derpy and not that... completely insane pony but whatever, don't need more of this time-wasting rage and madness~
