I cannot believe that this site is jumping on the ridiculous, sensationalist bandwagon based around ignorance. that is "KONY". I suspect that people who give attention to this movement are simply those desperately looking for something to belong to, but who do not wish to put in effort into finding a worthwhile cause. This campaign will not change anything. In fact, it might provoke unrest and instability in the very country that they are trying to protect the interests of. I urge you to inform yourself and to not let yourself be swayed by sensationalism and propaganda. Seek the truth and justice. Do not seek to simply belong to a popular cause. What the Invisible Children movement are advocating would only make the situation worse. Less than one third of the funds that the organization has gathered went to African charities. @redenchilada He is talking about the negative aspect of the Stop KONY thing and Invisible Children as a whole. Some people state the only way for this to stop is for Uganada to find this guy stop him.

@doates Invisible Children themselves are advocating military action against the Ugandan government. This should be enough for any well-informed individual to oppose them.

@ceruleanspark I would not outright label them a scam. Not all their goals are inherently detrimental. But they are far from genuine.

@odin I would argue a charity that pays 70% of their takings on their own salaries is, if not a scam, extremely disingenuous.

@odin No, they're not. they are only helping out the villages that are within the LRA's range of capture. All they are doing is supplying them with food, water, medical supplies and radios so the can communicate. Also, some of them in fact get killed doing this. Remember that bombing during the World Cup? One of the organizers was there and died cause of the explosion.

@doates With an issue as complex as this, jumping on any bandwagon without reading around first is definitely a mistake. I'm not sure what I think, but I know that I don't trust Invisible Children one bit, and would strongly advise others to donate to other groups.

@ceruleanspark @doates Wonderful to see that whoever is running the site is paying attention. If only there was a more informative and less sensationalist article or documentary to present the situation to the masses, as well as an organization that will be more sincere.
