  1. How long has it been since I've gloated about being a Linux user?

        1. @minti I'm learning code and apples, but can't even recite simple things. I remember all my HTML though. :/

    6. @aeniug2 ... Sounds fun, and that's not sarcasm. xD

    7. @aeniug2 .. Baha. That would be awesome if it was actually possible with average equipment. xD I can assure you though, I wasn't being sarcastic.

      1. @minti the scary thing is that google has probably already released some kind of monster bot like that that lurks even now, learning from us...

        1. @aeniug2 Well they have the speech input thing now, so they're learning voices too!

    8. @aeniug2 Yeah, and the new privacy statement scares me. They're allowed to bridge data across their services with no limits coming May. xD

Friday, 16-Mar-12 06:31:30 UTC from web
      1. @minti Seems to me, though, if it had *always* been [service].google.com instead of several distinct [service].com sites owned by Google, nobody would think twice about info being shared from one [service] to another. But that's just me.

    9. @aeniug2 It's not the hacking I'm worried about, it's google's handling of private data. They already poison your search result using your plus profile, what else would they be willing to do with full cross-service data?

Friday, 16-Mar-12 06:40:44 UTC from web
      1. @minti No doubt there would be some degree of... selective discrimination? will be present. IE, some adds or services being pushed down on the priority list and never seen, they could do that to entire demographics with extreme accuracy... like... right down to shoe size and food preferences...

        1. @aeniug2 Google has like 1838218 services. The only user only knows of like, 5 though. xD So, that's basically already happening. They're also buying out sites, only to take the idea and incorporate it into their software, which then is never seen again.

    10. @aeniug2 I can see where the nervous are coming from. I think part of my "meh" attitude comes from never giving truly important info to Google.

Friday, 16-Mar-12 06:41:10 UTC from web
      1. @scribus In terms of important information, your right. I would certainly be caring a lot more if I had more important stuff on google... The problem is, I don't necessarily control what google knows about me. My school made every student a gmail account without asking our permission, and filled them all out with the most accurate information they had on hand....

        1. @aeniug2 Oh wow, that's pretty bad.

Friday, 16-Mar-12 06:48:32 UTC from web
          1. @minti yeah. and the worst part is that all the accounts are under a custom domain or something that the school pays for in order to gain administrative rights over all the accounts, and we are not allowed to change any of the personal data because it would mess up the system they set up where every account has every other account in its contacts, making the sharing of googledocs faster etc etc etc... I don't care for it one bit. If we need each other's email's, we can just ask each other......

        2. @aeniug2 Sounds like that would be illegal.

        3. @aeniug2 Oh, fun! :D # Wow, man. That's... just... huh. My college made an @[myschool].edu mail for every student handled by Microsoft Outlook, but AFAIK the only info is the address itself... I can't even fathom the ... I mean, I guess it's alright, but why provide any more than a name, man?
