              1. @bicmacpony55 I think that has something to do with Minecraft but I have no idea.

                1. @yodelerty No actually, it's the money of the internet, and it can literally be made by just running your computer, then it can either be traded in for actual dollars or other currencies or spent online. (it's also what's used in the black market)

                    1. @yodelerty I'm being totally serious for once, I just found out about it and it's really got me hooked, I calculated with a couple friends at school today that if we got all our 8 computers running together on a single account we could make ~$14,000 a year just for keeping them on 24/7

                        1. @greatandpowerfuleaglehooves You download a "Bit Miner" as it's called and it takes some of your computers processing and dedicates it to a general server with hundred or thousands of other users ans then they pay you back with bit coins

                          1. @bicmacpony55 Does it run on Linux? I've got an old desktop that hardly even makes a good footrest, but I do have bandwidth to spare.

                            1. @greatandpowerfuleaglehooves I do believe there are ways to run it on Linux, never actually done it though, I'm still just setting it up on Windows. Check out www.deepbit.com, you should be able to find what you need through that

                      2. @bicmacpony55 That seems... cool. Not a horribly great amount but it's better than nothing. How do you do this?

Saturday, 24-Mar-12 04:15:22 UTC from web
                        1. @yodelerty It's not a lot no but it's it better than just letting the computers sit there and do nothing. To do it You download a "Bit Miner" as it's called and it takes some of your computers processing and dedicates it to a general server with hundred or thousands of other users ans then they pay you back with bit coins

                          1. @bicmacpony55 My computer is consistently at 100% CPU usage and I probably have the crappiest Internet in the world, so this probably wouldn't be a good idea for me. :/
