Rationale for the change, just in case anyone was wondering: @spectrumscramble was just a reference to a YTP video, whereas @bitshift is both 1) a nice name, and 2) the name I finally settled on for my OC, so it made more sense to change.

As for why it's my OC's name, Bit because of its triple meaning of small unit of data/bar that goes in an equine's mouth/currency in FiM, and Shift because it sounded better with two words, and shifting is one of a number of things that can be done to a bit (as in data). </possibly-unnecessary-explanation>
