As for why it's my OC's name, Bit because of its triple meaning of small unit of data/bar that goes in an equine's mouth/currency in FiM, and Shift because it sounded better with two words, and shifting is one of a number of things that can be done to a bit (as in data). </possibly-unnecessary-explanation>
