      @harpsichordart Likewise. The song is good music, and leaves things up to the imagination by remaining ambiguous. The fic is more blunt about it, which only really works if you can be confident you're able to match what your readers would otherwise imagine.

        @bitshift Which is why the infamous "chainsaw scene" from "Scarface" is so iconic - you don't see it. Instead of seeing the worst that some effects guy could dream up on budget, you see the absolute worst thing you could possibly imagine, tailor-made to your own sense of squick.
