    3. @purplephish20 This won't last long since there are internation agreements which forbit exactly this. In addition, the moral guardians of the whole US will use pressure...

    4. @purplephish20 It's not that big of a thing. The same tolerance and open mind that lets people enjoy many new rights obviously will allow things like that too.

      1. @nerthos Until they realise; "you know... this wasn't such a good idea"

Wednesday, 09-May-12 19:38:59 UTC from web
        1. @purplephish20 I honestly do not think it's suh a big deal. It's just another fetish in a sea of them. At least making it legal it could be regulated.

          1. @nerthos I genuinely do feel sorry for pedophiles, and by that I mean the ones who dont act on it. It's not a choice who someone is attracted to, very much the exact same as gay people, its when they choose to act on their urges when they become something evil. As practicing pedophilia is one of the most dispicable things imaginable

            1. @purplephish20 Agreed. Having these feelings is something I consider to be fine, you can become a great friend to those children. But yes, if it actually reaches the sexual part it becomes bad.

              1. @omni @purplephish20 I agree completely and I am happy that you are so understanding to people who are presented as monsters not worth living.

                1. @hakupony The same society that still condems gays for the most part and considers them monsters? Puh, I make my own lines of good and evil.

                  1. @omni That is a skill I admire. I also respect @nerthos for the same reason, even though our opinions are very different - like day and night.

                    1. @hakupony I respect you too for the same reason. Even though our oppinions greatly differ, we can talk things from a logical point of view.

                    2. @hakupony It's not that much of a skill, it's more disagreement. I'm being called insane constantly for how I am (vegetarian, asexual, multiple personalities, non-dominant male, etc.) and it's enough to question what they say because of that.

Wednesday, 09-May-12 20:00:38 UTC from Choqok
                      1. @omni Hehe, I'm a vegitarian as well :)

Wednesday, 09-May-12 20:02:13 UTC from web
            2. @purplephish20 You're confusing a pedophile with a pederast. Still I can think of lots of acts far more despicable. It's just seen as such a bad thing because our current society thinks of it that way. Maybe in a couple centuries it will be the norm, who knows.

Wednesday, 09-May-12 19:47:32 UTC from web
              1. @nerthos But because it is viewed as so wrong, the traumatizing effect for the child gets even bigger. If you are told to feel bad because you are a victim, you will feel bad and traumatized. This is why I consider that act under the current situation as morally bad. In another society, there would be other rules and childhood would mean another thing - but our ethics and our laws are made for the very culture we live in.

                1. @hakupony True... Really true... *knows some stuff regarding that* ._.

                  1. @omni Wanna talk about it?

Wednesday, 09-May-12 19:59:38 UTC from web
                    1. @hakupony Meh, it's not that special, I suppose. It's just some sexual abuse, happens often enough in this world. I can easily admit it here because this account doesn't contain enough info to link it to me as an individual person but the way people think about sexual abuse puts me in a state where it's hard to talk to anyone about what happened because they immediately want to punish those responsible, instead of letting me vent my feelings, you know?

                      1. @omni Hehe, classic dumb vigilante logic.

                      2. @omni I don't know but I think I have some understanding. The only thing I can say: one more reason to respect you for your open minded-ness.

Wednesday, 09-May-12 20:08:32 UTC from web
                        1. @hakupony I honestly don't think it's hard to be open-minded, but some people just don't get it.

                          1. @communistprime It's been centuries since Kant wrote "sapere aude" and so many people still don't do it. For me it is what I most value at a person.

Wednesday, 09-May-12 20:13:47 UTC from web
                        2. @hakupony I don't see how something caused by things that happened to me are something to have respect for. That's like having respect for me having a hat when a friend gave me one. But thanks, I guess? :P

Wednesday, 09-May-12 20:20:43 UTC from Choqok
                          1. @omni It's about talking openly, not about the event itself.

Wednesday, 09-May-12 20:22:57 UTC from web
                            1. @nerthos Ah, okay. Well, guess that seems I'm slowly starting to get over it, after several years. Was about time, being honest.

Wednesday, 09-May-12 20:24:35 UTC from Choqok
                          2. @omni It's just that you can see so good even though the hat is in your view :)

Wednesday, 09-May-12 20:26:07 UTC from web
                            1. @hakupony Well, I guess I should consider myself blessed with that, yes. However, being able to ignore more would be a gift I would like to have as well, even though I wouldn't trade it for this open-mindedness.

Wednesday, 09-May-12 20:34:39 UTC from Choqok
                2. @hakupony Still, the point is, is that right? Are those laws and ethics correct? We cannot know at this time. Biologists and medics foreign to the whole issue should be tasked with coming up with an answer, but that would be hard to do.

Wednesday, 09-May-12 19:54:38 UTC from web
                  1. @nerthos They are not perfect, but they work somehow. I think, we should discuss more and without taboos to test them constantly and we should be more open in many things. It's only natural that society changes and it is our task to do our part in guiding it. There is a german band I like to quote, called "Die Ärzte". "Es ist nicht deine Schuld, dass die Welt is wie sie ist, es wär nur deine Schuld, wenn sie so bleibt." In english: "It's not your fault world is as it is, it would just be your fault if it stayed that way."

      2. @nerthos The more intersting question is if it is legal to pay for child porn (or even produce it). This would be the moment when things would really turn bad.

Wednesday, 09-May-12 19:39:21 UTC from web
        1. @hakupony To be honest, I do not care in the least xD Let them do whatever they want to. You're the one who didn't believed in honor and justice, right? xD

Wednesday, 09-May-12 19:41:38 UTC from web
          1. @nerthos I do, however, believe that there should be rules everyone has to follow which are made to protect us from each other. I do not quite follow the logic why you don't help the production of movies if you download them without paying and how you help in the production of CP if you download it without paying. So, I don't see the harm. I do, however see, that there will be political reactions to that case.

Wednesday, 09-May-12 19:46:39 UTC from web
            1. @hakupony Yes, political drama always ensues. It's more of a thing about prejudice than about logic, in fact. They will see this as worse than streaming movies, because they believe it's more evil.

Wednesday, 09-May-12 19:51:26 UTC from web
    5. @purplephish20 i just noticed that this means that streaming is legal in New York - let's wait what the media industry has to say about that.

Wednesday, 09-May-12 19:42:25 UTC from web
    6. @purplephish20 Oh hey I only noticed this now. Why I personally do not see the bad in watching it, I do understand the issues in creating it. Personally, I would only allow animated (lolicon(?) amongst other styles) and no real stuff. But oh well.
