  1. Man this lockpicking bananas is way harder than videogames make it out to be. It's almost as if they DON'T train you to commit illegal acts.

    1. @ceruleanspark It is at this point that you give up and just try to punch through the doors like a man.

    2. @ceruleanspark There is a reason most illegals use brute force. To pick cheap locks isn't that hard but even with medium quality, you need some serious skill. Things you learn when you tend to forget your keys.

      1. @hakupony It's something I'd love to learn. It appeals to me in the same way that computer security did. It's like a puzzle to solve.

        1. @ceruleanspark Well, there is much theory to learn - to pick them, you must know them

          1. @hakupony I know how a tumbler lock works. I've even dismantled several to get a better feel for how big a pin is and how much force it takes to depress one. I've studied pick making, lock bumping and raking. I just can't seem to actually move from theory to practise.

            1. @ceruleanspark I can only pick the simplest, so you most likely are better as I am.

              1. @hakupony I'm practising on a desk-lock I removed from a spare desk. It's a basic tumblr design with a pretty small barrel. I think part of my issue is how small this particular lock is. I can't manouver my pick cleanly with the tension wrench in there.

                2. @ceruleanspark Everything smaller as a doorlock is to small for me. Never been very precise. Well, good luck though.

                  1. @hakupony I made an extra tiny pick and everything, but this is frustratingly tight.

      1. @lizardkingjoseph No I am the king of bethesda lockpicking. This is a real lock and a real pick. Screwdrivers make horrible tension wrenches.
