@redenchilada So I mistakenly assumed that, if you save over an existing file name in Audacity, that it took the place of the file...Instead, of course, it added two new tracks to the Ogg Vorbis file type. My question: How do I delete individual track lengths in there? If I can just get rid of the first two from the first save, I'll have my finished product perfected.

@clayinthecarpet ...Saving over an existing file in Audacity overwrites the old file. What the heck are you doing?
Friday, 10-Jan-14 03:26:00 UTC from web-
@redenchilada I saved it, but it saved as 4 tracks in one file instead of two separate files. *shrugs*

@clayinthecarpet I'm really not sure what you're doing. Saving should save a .aup file with the assets in another folder, and OGGs don't have multiple audio tracks. If you're trying to get rid of your last tracks, you can just click the X by a track to delete it.

@redenchilada If I did that, it would delete both backing tracks (the original song I was singing over). For some grapesed up reason, it combined them as one piece and combined both my recorded covers as one piece.

@redenchilada And I didn't select Ogg Vorbis as a save option. I just clicked "Save Project As..."

@redenchilada It took both original tracks and both recorded audio tracks and combined them into ONE original, and ONE audio. I want to delete one length of audio in each because there's like...seemingly no way to do it.
Friday, 10-Jan-14 03:29:39 UTC from web-
@clayinthecarpet So... the audio has two tracks, one with both originals stitched together, and one with both singing takes stitched together?
Friday, 10-Jan-14 03:31:19 UTC from web-
@redenchilada Yessir.
Friday, 10-Jan-14 03:32:04 UTC from web-
@clayinthecarpet Use the selection tool, select one half of the track, and either delete it or cut it and paste into a new track (Project > New Audio Track or New Stereo Track).
Friday, 10-Jan-14 03:33:59 UTC from web-
@redenchilada Okay, did that. What do I need to do next?
Friday, 10-Jan-14 03:37:22 UTC from web-
@clayinthecarpet If you just wanna export it as-is, just File > Export as {file format}. Otherwise do whatever audio editing/leveling (there's a slider on each track to adjust volume levels) you want, I guess. Also if you want to export an MP3 you'll need to download an extra codec for that.
Friday, 10-Jan-14 03:39:09 UTC from web-
@redenchilada But...the pairing is both original track backings with themselves and both original recorded lyrics by themselves...I'm asking how to break THOSE up from each other. If I paste one "track" into a new file, it's going to create a file of either 2 of me singing or 2 of the original vocal-less track at this point in time.
Friday, 10-Jan-14 03:41:30 UTC from web-
@clayinthecarpet Select the part of one track that you want to copy out. You said they were stitched together, right? As in one plays after the other? Not overlaid (playing at the same time), right?
Friday, 10-Jan-14 03:42:36 UTC from web-
@redenchilada I split the two "tracks" into two files, but it split them into 2 original backing tracks as one file, and 2 vocal tracks as one file. I just found the Split option here, but I'm not sure if that can let me delete one half of it yet or not.
Friday, 10-Jan-14 03:44:24 UTC from web-
@clayinthecarpet The Split option's probably what you want. If not, cutting one song out of a track manually should work.

@redenchilada Oh my god it worked. *hugs you dearly again*

@redenchilada I can't get this kiwi to find my .dll file for the MP3 conversion. Do you think I could ask you to convert it and send it back to me this one time until I get it all figured out?
Friday, 10-Jan-14 04:00:18 UTC from web -
@redenchilada I've downloaded the stupid thing twice, found it, yet the program still won't see it.
