  1. Lesson learned: engaging a Deathclaw Alpha Male from melee range is an awful idea. # #

    1. @bitshift Sniper rifle, shoot the head.

      1. @nerthos That would be my normal approach, yes. But I was feeling reckless, and had large supplies of Psycho and Turbo on hand. :)

        1. @bitshift I think I only used a drug once in Fallout.

          1. @nerthos I don't usually, because I'd prefer to keep my character in a state where they can inflict enough damage without relying on having a supply of chems. But like I said, feeling reckless, and had scavenged up a reasonably large amount of them. Not a good mix. :)

    4. @bitshift Deathclaws are serious business in #, quite the opposite of the pushovers they were in Fallout3

      1. @toksyuryel Well, regular deathclaws not so much by the time you hit level 41 (as long as you don't let them get close enough to hit you, at least). But the Alpha Male is an absolute nightmare.

        1. @bitshift I guess I wouldn't know since my level cap remains 30.

          1. @toksyuryel Can't get the DLCs, or just don't want to?

            1. @bitshift It's more money than I want to spend on a video game right now.

              1. @toksyuryel Fair enough. I will say that I feel it's absolutely worth it, though. All 4 story DLC feel like a very natural extension of the game, rather than something added on to squeeze more money out of customers. So if/when you do want to spend that much on a video game, I'd say that certainly wouldn't be a bad candidate.
