  1. The Avalon is 18 years old this month, and the Celica will be 30 in 2 months; almost as old as I!

    1. @awl My GLI is 7 this year and the bug should be like 57'. So I'm much older than one but more than twice as young as the other. Weird.

      2. @foxgopher cripes that's an odd thought. One nice thing about opd cars is cheap insurance.

        1. @awl I've been meaning to check how much it would be to insure, but I figure it won't be road worthy for quite a while and therefore I'm not really worrying about it.

          1. @foxgopher yeah not much a point in insuring a car if it's not moving; unless you don't trust where it sits. The bug definitely can get collectors insurance for the age. However, it might not work the same where you are.

            1. @awl I mean, Nevada is pretty terrible with stuff, but I'll ask around. Can't be too bad.

              1. @foxgopher id it works the same as my experience you set your value to the car and they charge you a lot less than what normal insurance would for blue book. Only downside is mileage restrictions.

                1. @awl This this has sat for FOREVER. If the odometer it to be trusted its either sitting at 7k or 107k

                  1. @foxgopher A meager difference if there ever was one

                    1. @nerthos Oh yeah, I really don't care, but I wonder now since the odometers didn't go up to 100k and just turned over again. My curiosity will never be satisfied.

                  2. @foxgopher there's where said restriction doesn't get enforced. I have a 5.000mi/year restriction, but people can easily say their odo doesn't work, and then what is the insurance company going to do? Make you put a lojack on it?

                    1. @awl Right? haha. I have a couple guys I know with classic bugs so I'll ask em.
