    2. @retl I woke up to the sound of me being late for work. And not 8-Bit Ghosties like I normally do.

      1. @thelastgherkin Ahahahaha, geez, that was quick. ... Though actually, now I can't look at this url without imagining it's a porn site, even though I've already been and know it isn't.

        1. @retl If it actually was, I'd be very disturbed.

          1. @earflaps Don't get disturbed. XD that's not a very friendly emotion. What you need are hugs! Lots and lots of !hugs!

            1. @retl There are some things even I don't want to imagine, and there's innocence that I'm unwilling to corrupt. That's why I was disturbed. Still, I've since replaced the 'disturbed' with 'lost-in-thought', so no worries.

              1. @earflaps Oooh, alrighty. Don't let internet stuff bother you too much. The most powerful asset of the internet is the ability to share, but that power is easily gimped by not being very invested in what you don't agree with. (On the other hand, that might make it easy to ignore available opportunities to learn, so I dunno. XD I guess basically, I'm saying be you. :3 )

        2. @retl It's porn for celibate cartoon fans.

            1. @retl I KNOW I KNOW I'M WORKING ON IT

      2. @thelastgherkin Now that I'm a bit more awake, I will point out why exactly I actually teared up a little bit last night when I first heard the video. First off PINKIE PIE OMG !Pinkieism fix acquired. Second, it's easy to take this as an acknowledgement of older fans at a glance, but really, considering how music works these days? It's just plain old picking a popular, catchy? sound for good advertising to the target audience then matching existing clips to fit it to conserve budget. After that, we now have clips of Pinkie saying "Kinda", "Bikinis, on top", "furry", "blow your mind", "represent", and "put your hooves up". Think about what this can be used for with people who like to splice audio together for YT videos. Kinky. Though I guess when I think about it, Pinkie's already got a nice library of amusing sounds to draw from~. <3 Pinkie Pie.

        1. @retl Sometimes, I genuinely believe I'm the only one here who doesn't like this sort of stuff.

Wednesday, 25-May-11 10:48:59 UTC from web
          1. @earflaps There's others, but they're quite probably asleep right now, or have gotten used to the idea that I'm pretty much always bouncing off the wall in my thoughts.

            1. @retl Not judging you or anything, it just makes me feel uncomfortable imagining these things. I've finally found something innocent AND awesome, and I want to keep it innocent at the very least. By all means though, don't stop with the random thought posts, they're pretty funny.

Wednesday, 25-May-11 10:54:13 UTC from web
              1. @earflaps (Actually, most of my thoughts aren't nearly as random as they seem. Even the ones with # Unless I'm specifically saying I have no idea where the post came from.) But yeah, I can sorta get why imagining some stuff would be bothersome.

                1. @retl I assume you're just like me. Your thought processes link things together in strange ways, resulting in you saying something that's perfectly relevant in your head but a non sequitur to everyone else. I do that too often, it's like wiki walking in my own mind!

                  1. @earflaps Ooooh. :O I like this way of thinking about it!

        2. @retl I don't dig the whole Youtube Poop phenomnomeonmom. But I can't help but think that Hasbro really didn't think about the original song when doing this. Like, for example, a few years ago when Toonami made an advert from an originally-explicit Eminem track.

Wednesday, 25-May-11 10:54:48 UTC from web
          1. @thelastgherkin Honestly, as long as the new lyrics aren't explicit, it should be fine. I've been working on a pony version of "A Little Piece Of Heaven", which is a song about rape, necrophilia, murder and cannibalism, and not necessarily in that order. The new lyrics are perfectly clean though.

Wednesday, 25-May-11 10:56:55 UTC from web
            1. @earflaps Yeah, but still, anypony looking to put it into some kid of context and has the ability to research the original song could come quite a cropper. I'm looking at you, target demographic!

              1. @thelastgherkin Good point, but the song gets massive amount of airplay on the radio (at least, where I live). They've probably already heard the song.

                1. @earflaps Eh, true. But it kind of reminds me of the time I was walking past a playground and heard a 9-year-old going "you cut me open and I keep bleeding, keep keep bleeding, love".

                  1. @thelastgherkin If that song had a face, I would punch it in the balls.

          2. @thelastgherkin I've seen a handful of YTP that had me laugh to tears unlike anything else I've ever seen. At the same time, I've seen some YTP that's just as trashy as the name... And it actually outnumbers the ones that have some thought into them, so I'm not sure if they should even be using the same label. As for the original song, I've never heard it, and I have a tendency to tune out lyrics in music in general, myself. Especially with a lot of the music I've been seeing on TV and hearing on radio as of the last... +6 years? I don't even want to know what they're saying for fear it'll ruin the song for me in the rare event that I do like it.
