3 words/things I can't stand and why:
Infinite/endless - It just doesn't make sense, we "know" that the universe is endless, but everything has an end. It makes me worry and ponder about what is at the end of something that has no limits.
Perfect - All of us understand that everything/everyone has one or multiple flaws. Nothing ever will be "perfect" because our minds will create some new way to find something wrong with it.
Normal - I saved the worst for last. Everyone is unique from the second that they are born, so there never will be a "normal". Also, "normal" in the eyes of one person is completely different in the eyes of another. It's like saying everyone has the same idea of "perfect".Sunday, 25-May-14 01:02:11 UTC from web-
@boombaboom Infinite and perfect are philosophical/mathematical concepts, and normal means that it follows the norm, thus it has nothing to do with the view of each person but rather with the rules and characteristics of the place/society an object is judged to detemine wether it is normal. You're probably confusing "normal" with "acceptable" or "good"

@nerthos But I put normal because normal is not actually areal thing and is subject to change. also, not everyone's idea of the norm is another's.

@boombaboom The norm is not determined by an individual, but rather by society at large, or in a smaller circle by the authorities of said circle. It is a real thing, for example the norm for sedan cars is to have four doors and a trunk. A car with four doors and a fifth back door that opens completely and uses the area behind the back seats as a trunk when needed is also a sedan, but not a normal one. It changes over time, as society changes, or in the case of that example, as general design trends change.

@nerthos If you think about it like that, then I still dislike it. If being able to fly was normal, I might have different thoughts about it.

@boombaboom You can just buy a lightweight plane. They are cheaper than a car.
Sunday, 25-May-14 01:16:33 UTC from web-
@nerthos I mean FLY fly. Like, independently. no machinery.
Sunday, 25-May-14 01:20:45 UTC from web-
@boombaboom Your muscle type and bone structure are unfit for that, even if you get wings. Despite our utter disregard for our limitations, we're land animals. Having airborne capabilities as a default would make our bodies unfit for most activities we do regularly.
Sunday, 25-May-14 01:22:46 UTC from web-
@nerthos And that's why I don't like humans.
Sunday, 25-May-14 01:23:32 UTC from web-
@boombaboom I don't see the logic behind disiking your own species, even more so when we can just engineer stuff to make us able to perform almost any activity we aren't able to do naturally.
Sunday, 25-May-14 01:25:22 UTC from web-
@nerthos But, flight would make you feel free. But you aren't free if you have to use technology to do so.
Sunday, 25-May-14 01:27:13 UTC from web-
@boombaboom That's untrue. Freedom is about not having rules to follow, not about what tools you use to ignore those rules. By your definition literally the only way to feel free would be to fly around completely naked.
Sunday, 25-May-14 01:29:00 UTC from web-
@nerthos you are correct.

@boombaboom It's very free feeling even to fly in an aeropleane.

@beautifawl A glider would probably be close enough to natural flight to please most people.
Sunday, 25-May-14 01:32:47 UTC from web-
@nerthos I say give me an engine.
Sunday, 25-May-14 01:36:57 UTC from web-
@beautifawl I'd do the same, deviating from natural flight to please our natural craving to tame the world.
Sunday, 25-May-14 01:37:56 UTC from web-
@nerthos There you go; another thing that makes humanity unique. We constantly improve and strive.
Sunday, 25-May-14 01:40:11 UTC from web-
@beautifawl As a species we're the only one focused on outliving our allocated time, rather than just spending it and passing away.

@beautifawl I feel like I'll be able to get the "wishing for freedom" out of my system whenever I go skydiving.
Sunday, 25-May-14 01:38:05 UTC from web-
@boombaboom You might, couldn't say for sure as I didn't take skydiving classes.

@nerthos @boombaboom Also being able to fly would have probably kept us from ever settling down and developing advanced technology.
Sunday, 25-May-14 01:23:42 UTC from web-
@nerthos fair enough.

@stardust But not more expensive than ALL cars, so my statement is still correct.
