    I feel like everyone is misunderstanding me. I'm not criticizing romance, or shipping. I like both when it's done well, and the story is actually more than just "circumstances that cause these two horses to do the kiss". I honestly do believe, however, that most MLP shipping fanfiction is not well written, and mostly fan service. Does that mean I think shipping is bad? No.

        @loveydoe In our defense, you did say that 'shipping is all about "these two characters look cute", so the writer will go OOC and put the characters in dumb situations JUST so the two pastel horses can the kiss.'. You seemed to be speaking broadly about all shipping, but now I understand that you weren't.

          @loveydoe yeah I phrased that poorly. While a lot of shipping is "these two characters look cute", the criticisms that come after that phrase were specific to the poorly written fan service I was criticizing, not all shipping.
