@ellie It takes a while for AnCo's material to really sink, I didn't like MPP at all after my first listen and, well it's currently my background on RDN so it clearly grew on me! xD

@ellie I guarantee at some point the hook from 'My Girls' is gonna get stuck in your head and it's gonna be stuck for days.
-
@ellie At first I thought "This is basically if the Beach Boys harmonized over glitchy electronics" but the more I listened to it the more I noticed a lot of the fine subtleties and arrangements that make it such a brilliant psychedelic pop record.

@ellie Yeah, I grew up listening to The Beach Boys so I'm a huge fan. All things considered Panda Bear is sort of a modern day Brian Wilson, or if not him Avey Tare for sure.
-
@ellie Funnily enough I didn't get into country or 80s rock until I was much older. But 70s psychedelic, blues, and The Beach Boys were my upbringing.

@ellie My dad was into basically all the stuff I listed in my previous post, my mother was much more into her Italian opera music.

@ellie I'm honestly not too well versed on it myself either but it was totes my mom's jam. I just got kinda bored after a while.

@ellie With me I'm more well versed in 70s rock because would always be playing his tunes through his speakers at home, and as for the singer thing it was basically the same thing except instead of Freddie Mercury it was Brian Wilson for me growing up.
Saturday, 19-Jul-14 04:38:27 UTC from web -
@ellie Yeah, you hear about Freddie everywhere, which is fine but I don't think Queen would've been the same without Brian May to be honest. He played just as much a pivotal role in the band's success as Freddie but most people seem to think Freddie and only Freddie did all the heavy lifting.

@ellie Is it wrong if I'm not actually too into Fun.? Like I understand the appeal but their music just never stood out to me =/ Although that aside I see your point, a lot of bands have underrepresented members.

@ellie I've listened to both. Aim and Ignite was alright but I really couldn't get into Some Nights.

@ellie Love em. Funeral is a classic, and their other stuff is all great too.
Saturday, 19-Jul-14 05:48:35 UTC from web -
@ellie The Suburbs was great, I think I just have more of an emotional connection to Funeral though. It's really just a very poignant album, and lyrically it just speaks to me. Also, unrelated, but the title track from their Reflektor album is the grooviest thing ever oh my god.

@ellie The Suburbs has a very homey sort of feeling to it. It definitely makes me feel really comfortable to listen to it.
