  1. I burn lossless FLAC files to a CD to listen to them on a PlayStation 1. #

    1. @techdisk I usually prefer V0 mp3s these days but if I get an album in a FLAC format it's not a big deal, I can convert too.

      1. @northernnarwhal I don't think MP3 can ever be lossless. Only extremely high quality. I could be wrong, but I would need some sort of refrence.

        1. @techdisk No, but I usually play my digital music on mp3 players so prefer using mp3s, and v0 is the highest standard for variable bitrate.

          1. @northernnarwhal ah. I use a hacked iPod nano that supports every music file type known to man, so yeah. But even then I use MP3 for stuff because the iPod is only 2 gigs.

            1. @techdisk (though I do have some specific songs that I really like in FLAC on there.)

            2. @techdisk At the end of the day, as long as it's not a low quality crappy bitrate it's fine, if I love a record enough that I want to listen to it in its fullest form I'll just buy the vinyl for it.

              1. @northernnarwhal Yep. I just wish I had audio equipment that would actually let me hear the difference. -_-

                1. @techdisk No kidding, even the best file is worthless if you're listening to it on lousy gear. Of course, having a trained ear always helps too.
