      1. @techdisk All 8 bit is realistically is limiting yourself to so many tones. a simple triangle wave in alot of cases can do the same due to simplicity of the polarization.

        1. @l1ghtsword 8-bit in the way I use it is limiting myself to 2 channels of square waves, one channel of triangle wave (with no volume control possible), a noise channel, and one DPCM channel.

            1. @l1ghtsword Yeah, I've always thought limitations create beauty. The japanese version of the NES had the ability to accept inputted sound. I usually use the VRC6 chip in tandem with the original NES channels, which adds two more square waves and a sawtooth. But really, to actually have an appretiation for NES music, you have to have tried to make some. Basically, I listen to this and I sit in AWE. because this guy used only the NES channels. two square, one triangle, noise, and DPCM. http://pny.lv/3g9c
