@rainbowcrash592 I've seen the anime for that as well. It was alright, not my favourite Shojo series.

@rainbowcrash592 Maybe because of production times/costs, they needed to streamline the arc of the story from point A to point B.

@northernnarwhal But they still put too much stuff in too little screentime. The same thing isn't happening with The Hobbit, as there's three long movies for a short book.

@nerthos If anything they alleviated the sluggish pacing of the original novels without sacrificing any significant plot points, and the cinematography is gorgeous. The effects are really great too.

@northernnarwhal Gotta agree on the pacing. The novels were basically an attempt at conveying imagery through text.

@nerthos Well, Tolkien was originally a cartographer. His greatest talented was making his worlds incredibly detailed and thorough.

@rainbowcrash592 The problem is they shouldn't even be compared in the first place. They're entirely different mediums and have entirely different presentation methods.
