    @lnxw48 IMO th lock being lockable without a selected group is a dangerous # be greyed out unless a group is selected. @roland

      @mcscx When I was doing some checks, using the lock without a group didn't... do anything. It's kind of weird. At one point I set up our instance to make it show only to subscribed users or ones being replied to if it was clicked and that worked decently enough. (Later I removed it and just make it hide the lock button by default since the community here didn't like it.)

        @redenchilada Anybody can join a public group, even later…So using the lock +pub group is rather to not bother everybody w/ e.g. sports talk

        @redenchilada To really restrict access to msgs you'd create a private group. Then you won't need the lock.Using "!privategroup" is enough
