      1. @rarity The headline is totally misleading

        1. @critialcloudkicker it's also not wrong; he was stabbed with a squirrel

          1. @rarity Although the wrongness is debatable ( stabbed with a statue of a squirl means "stabbed with a statue" ... You're not going to say that if I kill you by thowing a sewer-pipe at your head and totally squished your body, I "sewered" you to death ) ... Just sort of annoys me

            1. @critialcloudkicker I guess I'm just being a bit of a newsperson apologist since that's literally what I do for a living. Although I don't have the chance to make sensational headlines since I'm on the radio, I definitely do try to make my lead sentence attention grabbing (i.e. of someone died in the incident, you can be sure I'm mentioning it in the opener)

              1. @rarity I am not blaimg those who want to keep their jobs, but the method of of how it is presented irks me. Seems that humanity is on a downwards slope of intelligence

                1. @critialcloudkicker that's why I try to cover stories that would normally be outside my conservative listenership's point of view (Arab appreciation events, gay rights, etc)

        2. @critialcloudkicker That's what news programs do. Make up sensational headlines. The point is to sell an image or idea, not to give accurate information.

          1. @nerthos Yeap. And it annoys me.

            1. @critialcloudkicker I can't stand them either. There are two things that ruin my mood almost instantly, and those are news and dogs.

              1. @nerthos Why dogs ?

                1. @critialcloudkicker I'm completely tired of them, their destructive and brash nature, cowardice and pack mentality.

                  1. @nerthos ... I think you just described Humans

                    1. @critialcloudkicker Humans are smarter though, and usually have the good judgement not to act when they shouldn't. With dogs, unless you spend months training them, they will do crap they know they shouldn't do all the time, make no effort to hide it, and will cry and run away when confronted. You could break every bone in their body and they'd do it again once they're healthy. A human wouldn't.

                      1. @nerthos Ehmm, and that makes you annoyed by dogs, how ?

                        1. @critialcloudkicker They do the thing, and it's illegal to kill them.
