  1. I didn't know that Turkey's current president is trying to re-instate the teaching of the Ottoman Turkish vernacular in school. Kemal Atatürk pretty much banned it from being taught in his reforms in 1923, as well as many other movements into the secular realm, which according to some news... Turkish citisens are starting to move away from again...

      1. @nerthos Ottoman wasn't just the Turks' golden age either. For the longest time the Middle East was at peace subjugated under them. You know, once they rounded up and assimilated/killed any other ethnicity.
